Open toe shoes after Labor Day?

Katie, on March 2, 2018 at 5:44 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13
So I was about to buy my wedding heels when my mom throws out the whole “you’re not supposed to wear open toe shoes after Labor Day” issue which I haven’t even thought about. My date is Oct 14th, should I even worry about this? Do people still follow this rule? I really wanted strappy open toe heels similar to these

No one follow this rule. It's silly. Wear the shoes.

No one follows that rule any longer. This is not an issue about which a mother's opinion should matter.

I haven't heard about this since I was a kid, and even then I thought it was a dumb thing. Wear whatever shoe you like.

Those are old school, out dated fashion rules. Anything goes, do what you’d like!

I saw these recently, i wear open toe shoes after labor day..all the time actually. I usually hear about "not wearing white" after labor day..which wouldnt apply to a bride anyway lol but yea thats strange i think these are super cute.

I’m wearing these for an Oct 12th wedding. You don’t need to follow this outdated rule!

I don’t really wear open toe shoes ever unless it’s flip flops in the middle of summer. I always wear closed toe heels and flats. I didn’t like how any closed toe shoes looked with my dress though, which is how I settled on these.

I wear open toe shoes or sandals until my toes start to get cold. I would wear them year round if I could. I wore open toe sandals for my wedding in October in Ohio.

That’s the craziest thing I’ve ever heard. Open toed shoes are appropriate whenever it’s not too cold for your toes!!
