Open Bar PP Pricing

Hello all, just a quick inquiry for you all hosting an open bar. I have no frame of reference for this so I was just wondering, if you don't mind sharing: what is your per person price for open bar? I'm basically trying to determine if the pricing one of our potential venues has given us is average....

I'm basically trying to determine if the pricing one of our potential venues has given us is average. $27/pp for 3.5 hrs or $29/pp for 4 hrs.

My venue everything is combined, food and drinks I'm paying $49 a person before taxes and fees.. and this includes my apps, dinner, late night snack and top shelf bar for 6 hours. So I guess I'd cut it down the middle and say 25?

I think that seems about average. Ours is included in the total price per person - they don't offer cash/consumption bar options unless it is a corporate function or fundraiser or something.

There is an option to upgrade to top shelf for another $5 pp or something. Our total (4 course dinner, upgraded apps and stations, all tables/chairs/linens, etc.) is going to be about $120 pp with tax and service charge.

Were doing a full open bar, our venue had pretty much one package 5.5 hour 29per person. I'm getting married in western MA. We have a bunch of big drinkers so we thought it well worth the price.

@jessica that does seem like a lot unless the posters above with the hourly prices are also only doing beer/wine... if it's 4 hours that's $56pp

For me the Bartending service which includes Ice, cups, bartender, and insurance will be about $300 for 100 people for 4 hrs. I supply the alcohol/mixers which should run us around $500-$600ish. so overall bar price for 100 people for 4 hrs is about $800-$900.

@jessica yes mine is for open bar. Wine, 4 different beers, and liquor and all of the sodas/juices/mixers. And it includes a champagne toast with dinner. If yours is only beer and wine that does seem expensive. I wouldn't do a consumption bar with my crowd though because they would drink me broke lol

Our venue package is 55/p.p for food, cake, tables, glassware, decor,dj for 5 hrs and photographer for 4 hrs, but dont have a liquor license,so they can't sell it but we can provide it and they would serve with a bartender fee of $250. I have to provide ice but they will store it. So we are bringing a bit of everything. So when it runs out ,it runs out lol. With 55 guests

We are able to bring our own liquor and beer so that part will be cheaper. However, we are getting married at a winery venue that only allows their wine so we are paying $40-60 per bottle of wine (minimum 2 case order required). Our catering company provides bartenders at $20 an hour.

My catering quote included the food and booze in the per person cost, but your quotes do sound fair! For $29 I could order like 3 mixed drinks at a bar in DC Smiley smile

Jealous of those of you whose pp costs are $50 and below including food AND beverage. That would be amazing. Depending on entrees we select we're looking at 60-80pp NOT including bar, taxes, or fees. The pp amount all said and done with everything will likely be double or triple that $60-80pp.

We are paying $23 pp for 4 hours of open bar. This includes vodka, gin, rum, 2 different whiskeys, scotch, 3 types of beer, 2 types of wine, mixers, and they allows us to bring in any other alcohol that we want that they do not offer so I can also add to this without extra charge (other than personal buying expense)

We're paying $18.50pp for 5.5 hours of open bar including beer, wine, and liquor. For context: this price is for a super cheap area of the country and does not include premium brands.

I'm also getting married just north of Boston and mine is $37.50/pp for 4 hours of open bar. We're still deciding whether we want to do that or consumption based pricing where liquor is $7.50 and beer/wine is $6.50 -- we have some heavy drinkers but then my dad's entire side of the family is full of people who don't touch alcohol so we might end up saving money on them!

Here in Denver we're paying $16.50/pp for 3.5 hrs. But that was on a package special. Normally it would've cost $33/pp for 3.5 hrs.

I think it depends on what liquor they are offering. Ours is $11 per hour for craft beer, wine, and their "top level" liquor, which is actually just mid-level stuff (tito's, Tanqueray, captain morgan, Bacardi, sauza, jack daniels, etc.). We're in a VERY expensive area.

My bar consists of beer, wine, and signature drink. $11/person for 4 hours. I think the full bar option was close to $20/person. I'm in Ohio so a different area and likely cheaper prices.
