Open Bar or Wine Variety

Lisa Marie, on October 24, 2019 at 6:43 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 33
Hello again!!

Included with our venue package is beer, wine & champagne. We are wanting to add a little more.

We are considering to pay for an open bar or add on varieties of wine not included in the package.

As a guest, would you prefer an open bar or a variety of wines?

If we opt for the open bar, (plus the beer and wine included in the package) or add additional varieties of wine to what is included in the package?

It may be important to know that our ceremony starts at 11am & the meal is served at 12:30pm.

Thank you!!

I would rather open bar at that point than just more wine options

I mean personally I want wine variety, but I’m a wine enthusiast, and don’t drink much liquor. I think that *most* people though would prefer the full bar option. I know a lot of people who aren’t super into wine, and lots of people who like a cocktail at an event, and people who just prefer liquor

I do think it’s worth asking though (as a wine snob 😝)— what is the wine included with the original package?

For brunch, you should be fine with beer, wine and champagne. I’d love a mimosa bar!!

Depends on what wine is included. If it’s just something like barefoot I’d want more wine variety. But I live in California in a wine region so mine and my friend group’s views might not be the norm.

I would say at that time of day you should be ok with beer and wine but personally I prefer an open bar.

We had open beer wine & bubbly and the rest you had to buy hard alcohol. I think that is perfect because I feel people get less crunk for lack of better word.

I’d, personally, rather have a wide variety of wine.

I think it definitely depends on the wine. If it’s not good wine m, more varieties won’t help. If they’re adding higher end brands that could be a great option. Otherwise I’d think most people would prefer an open bar with liquor options. Most weddings that I’ve been to have had two reds and two whites, more than that probably isn’t necessary

We are doing an open bar with wine and beer only...im concerned about people drinking excessively and feel that this will help somewhat...but we have some kbiwn heavy drinkers on our guest list.

It’s just White Zinfandel, Cabernet & Chardonnay. We could add Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanche, Pinot Grigio, Moscato, Riesling... I’m not sure if the brand.

It’s house wine, not sure if the brand(s). I’m in Vegas so I could be pleasantly surprised on the quality of the house wine 🤷🏽‍♀️

That’s what we were originally thinking but the a family member was telling us a story about they went to a wedding where there was a cash bar, and how unhappy they were about it. So we wanted to make sure there was variety. Probably a know you’re crowd thing and we definitely have a mixed bag!

But it’s Vegas! Lol But a lot if those attending have children to go home to so I don’t think it will be too crazy at that time with hard alcohol.
