Only ONE Pixie cut in the Short Hairstyle section?

Noelle, on November 28, 2015 at 10:35 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 28

And it IS adorable, but I was pretty bummed to see only one truly short haircut in the "short" section. As a woman who has rocked the pixie cut most her life and wishes more women would embrace this most feminine of cuts, I was sad to see it overlooked and to see short hair defined as "chin-length!"

So, beautiful ladies with sexy short locks, what are your plans for your hair on your wedding day and/or what did you do with those sassy dos when you said "I do?" Tell me and let me see?

Me? I've a gorgeous sash I'm wearing as a headpiece in rhinestone leaf pave for our outdoor outdoor-themed wedding. It makes me feel like a woodland sprite!

I feel like that's probably because what can be done with a pixie cut is probably pretty well summed up with one picture of a headpiece. Unless your hair takes curl really well, or you want a faux-hawk or something.

I've got pretty short curly hair, and I'll probably just be washing and styling it like usual the day before, but to be fair I'm not a woman.

Google wedding pixie cut. I found a lot that way. I'm growing my hair now, but immediately after the wedding, I will get it chemically straigtened going back to the cut below.

I agree with Pigeon... it's style as usual- orrrrrrrrrrr add a head band- or little baubles.

pins with swarovski are another option.

I'm not looking for ideas, I've got an incredible hair stylist who will do my hair with my headpiece that morning. I'm just disappointed that this site showed only one truly short cut as if "yep, that's it, you gotta have chin-length hair or longer to do anything hair-wise for your wedding." Truly short hair is so chic and fabulous. I wish I saw more women embrace it, but then it wouldn't be so special, I suppose.

That's the hair I'll have after the wedding. BTW, that's not me, but that's how I've worn my hair for more than 10 years.

Noelle, I have to agree about short hair being very chic and sophisticated. No matter what I wore (business suit, jeans & t-shirt, cocktail/evening dress) my hair just gave it a more polished look.

I struuuuggled to find inspiration pics for my hair too, so I stopped looking specifically for bridal and that helped. I agree, short hair looks so chic but SO many people asked me if I was gonna get extensions and I was like...why look like a different person on my wedding day!? Anyways, here's a pic of my wedding day hair, my hair has grown out of a pixie so I went for a kinda pin curled look.

I'd meant to put a hairpiece on before the reception (I wore a cathedral length veil for the ceremony) but in the hustle and bustle I forgot to, lol. But for our back home reception in Spain (destination wedding to the US) I wore a headpiece, actually had it customized for the dress.

You ladies are goooorgeous with your pixie haircuts!! All of you!

I find the birdcage veil to go well with short hair, personally. And you can find lots of inspiration online!

There's only so much you can do with short hair. I opted for a headband.

Lots of women embrace it- but for gallery purposes- there isn't a ton of options. I'm struggling to not chop mine right now- I wanted some hair- and I usually go through a 2-3 year cycle on hair/vs no hair- but I figured it would be reasonable to leave it longer in and out of the wedding (business purposes- as a professional performer the hair typically is a win- pixie- less so).

But there are a lot of women who DO have short hair. I love mine. I love when it's shaved to. Makes me happy happy.

JoRocka, I go through weird phases when I decide I should really grow mine out. I fall in love with my pretty auburn curls for a year or so, then realize I'm a pixie at heart and ceremoniously have it chopped. I'm too predictable!

I'm sorry, I missed who on here said they've had people ask if they're getting extensions for the wedding: that is so incredibly ignorant, insulting, and downright rude!

Yeha- there is something really refreshing and sassy about a pixie- I'm did the half shaved head thing before Rihanna made it super popular (I still think she stole it from me .. kidding kidding)- the super super short pixie isn't quiet as good on me (I WISH!)...

last time I chopped it- I did it like OTEP- from Apex Predator- I typically go for the asymmetrical aggressive bob. I am professional performer though and I'm finding the reaction to the hair as a performer is big- and I've gotten critiqued for not looking a certain way... which... honestly I know- I can look how ever I want- but I am a paid performer- if the owner of a restaurant thinks he'll get better business if he hires another dancer- well- that's money I'm losing- so- I do unfortunately have to consider it. I'm pushing 2 years of hair grown now (so jaw length) and people still consider it short- which is weird to me b/c its' really starting to drive me bonkers...

seriously- how do you all have sex with long hair without hair ties!!!! I mean- aside from regular daily functions- I mean that in and of itself is a thing! LMAO

I don't consider jaw-length short, either. It starts to drive me crazy as well and when I have to get out the blow dryer, well, it's bye-bye hair.
