Hey y’all! I’m planning on doing online RSVP’s. Originally I was going to send an RSVP card without a stamp and a comment at the bottom about the online RSVP option. Now, I’m thinking about only sending RSVP cards(with stamps) to the older guests who are way less likely to do the online option....
Hey y’all! I’m planning on doing online RSVP’s. Originally I was going to send an RSVP card without a stamp and a comment at the bottom about the online RSVP option. Now, I’m thinking about only sending RSVP cards(with stamps) to the older guests who are way less likely to do the online option. Everyone else would get a details page that I could print myself from home and save a ton of money. Thoughts? Has anyone done this? Is it tacky? Help please! Thanks in advance!

I used PaperlessPost for our save the dates and everyone responded very positively to it. So much easier and cheaper than mailing them.

I probably will be mainly using a website to RSVP/send invites. I may print out a few physical ones to some of our older relatives, and Walgreens has a few cute layouts for 0.85 a piece. USPS has stamped envelopes for 0.69 and up. It might be easy to grab a few of those and send them out with the return address already upon the stamped envelope.

Not tacky at all, but I’m on the same boat because of the older guests attending

In standard etiquette, RSVP is put at the bottom of an invitation. With no RSVP card, or envelope or stamp at all. It is assumed people are capable of picking up a piece of their own stationery, writing a response, and putting it in their own envelope with a stamp. The whole card, envelope stuff started because people hope fewer people will forget, if is easy. Obviously, does not always work. If you want to revert to standard etiquette, and not give a card and such h to some, they can reply online, or simply use their own stationery. Not bad manners, at all. And it is an extra consideration for folks older, less computer friendly, to make it easy with the card and envelope. It is fine to do one thing for some, and a different thing for others . And it is considered rude for people to compare behind your back, like gossip. So only people already being rude, would speculate on why you did things 2 different ways. Nothing says this GS must be the same for everyone. It is most polite to cater to what seems easiest and comfortable for your guests, and like any good host, that is what you are doing.

Going for non-traditional myself and planning the same! Physical invites & RSVP for older fam (also giving them the option to RSVP online if they want) and online-only for friendos. I'm having so few family members actually attend that it's not really a big deal, and I'm excited to hand-make each one Smiley smile

I think it's a good idea. I'm all about cost efficiency. I'm planning my own wedding. I didn't do save the date n all tht jazz. I printed out invitations saying your invited and RSVP to my email. I mailed out some and did drive bys

( driving to the person's house on the way ) lol and I did virtual invitations for those who cant put the phone down. Told them to save the date, set a reminder. And surprisingly it's working to my benefit. It may be tacky to some but they're not spending the money on this stuff. If I can put it out there and ppl get the message I'm winning. So you do what's best for you and pockets. I'm simple so mailing out whole packages it's not it for me. Good luck on this mission.
