Hey y’all! I’m planning on doing online RSVP’s. Originally I was going to send an RSVP card without a stamp and a comment at the bottom about the online RSVP option. Now, I’m thinking about only sending RSVP cards(with stamps) to the older guests who are way less likely to do the online option....
Hey y’all! I’m planning on doing online RSVP’s. Originally I was going to send an RSVP card without a stamp and a comment at the bottom about the online RSVP option. Now, I’m thinking about only sending RSVP cards(with stamps) to the older guests who are way less likely to do the online option. Everyone else would get a details page that I could print myself from home and save a ton of money. Thoughts? Has anyone done this? Is it tacky? Help please! Thanks in advance!

I kept everything the same in each envelope. it gives them the option to mail in or go online. this way it is covered all around. Inside the envelope is the invitation hotel info rsvp card and i also had an online one and weblink. for the online all my friends on facebook or email i send them msg also. But i have older guests that dont do online and friends that also dont do online. so i gave everyone the option. i just bought a pack of card stock paper and printed things on that.

We did all online RSVPs, even for older guests. I have a 90 year old great uncle who managed to figure out the website so if he could manage it then so Smiley tongue

We did include a "if you have difficulty using the website, you can contact us at [phone number] or [email]" which I think was good, for the people who may struggle with it. But I think out of our 145 invitees, we had about a dozen that didn't RSVP at all (but I don't think it had to do with it being online or not...) and 3 or 4 that RSVPd via phone. One was a text from my friend who I think was just being lazy about the website lol and the others were older relatives who I knew were going to come anyway but they called either my mom or grandma and told them they'd be attending.

I know my family and most wont be using rsvp in any way. They will just call and say "hey we will be there" then using the guest manager on here ill keep it together.
I actually bought cheap forever usps stamps. For 80 stamps + shipping it was only $2.10 or so. So im not too concerned about people using them or not.

I wish I had done online RSVP's!! The guest HAS to put in the exact number of RSVP's - he or she can't go over and invite extra people. We just attended a wedding with an online RSVP and thought it was pretty sweet!! Don't worry about older folks - most are tech savvy or have someone in their life who can RSVP for them!!

We did all of our RSVPs online. For the older guests, we (me, my bridal party, my mom) just took care of it for them. One of my FH's groomsmen got married in March & they included an RSVP card in the invitation suite, but without the stamp, and offered the option to RSVP by mail or online. Obviously you're going to save money by not including the RSVP card & stamp, but either way you're going to have to hunt down people for RSVPs. I don't think either option is tacky though...one is just more modern, saves you money, & saves on paper.

I am doing online RSVP's, just to make my life (online guest list) and their lives (log online and sign) easier! On my invitations, I said they could go on our website OR shoot me an email to RSVP. A lot of older folks may be uncomfortable worrying about a URL but more may be able to send emails (just to back this up, I speak to those living in retirement/assisted living homes every day and this is usually the case)!

I agree. That’s the same way we did it. It was easier for everyone and cost effective.

I used the knot for online rsvps. It helped me keep track of who already accepted and who I needed to reach out to which actually it has the option to set the deadline and it'll send out a mass text from their website saying hey you need to rsvp

I used the digital RSVP for guestlist through Wedding Wire. I recommend doing it on a desktop rather than the app which is hard to maneuver. You can upload the guestlist from a spreadsheet

We are planning on doing online RSVPs. The plan is to send our save the dates via email (virtual only) and send paper invitations (so people have something to put on their fridge) via snail mail that will include our wedding website and RSVP instructions (guests will be able to RSVP and make meal selections via our website). For the very few technologically un-savvy people on our list, I'm planning on just adding a little note with our phone number so they can call us to RSVP instead. We are talking about a handful of people, so its something we can easily manage via phone calls. Most of our older guests are the sisters of my FH's parents (his aunts and their partners), so I may also just leave my MIL in charge of collecting RSVPs from those few people. We only have one couple that doesn't have an email address, so I'm thinking if people have an email address they can probably manage to RSVP online without too much issue.

I think millennial and younger guests really appreciate online RSVPs so as long as you don't have too many older guests it will probably seem really normal to them.

We did online only and it worked well for the most part. Some older folks had trouble and many people forgot. We had someone tell us "I mailed that card in last week" when we asked her to RSVP since the date had passed lol. I was thinking that's pretty much impossible... Smiley smile

We had a tri-fold invitation so it was all just printed on the invite. Not sure if a separate card would have been a better reminder. I think giving the older folks the mail-in option is a good idea.

I'm doing online RSVP. I have a tab specifically for rsvp on my wedding website.

Thank you! I got them from a website called PurpleTrail. This design actually doesn't exist, I just took a tri-fold invite and added the artwork and text that I wanted but liked that flexibility! They do have lots of cute pre-made ones though. I might have a 20% off code at home - I will check later and let you know!
