Online RSVP

What are your thoughts on mailing out invites but having everyone RSVP on our wedding website? Is that considered bad etiquette like e-vites are? Would it make you think the wedding is less formal?

That's what I'm doing! I haven't decided what site I wanna use yet, but I just feel like it is sooo convenient and also saves money!

We had physical invites but RSVP was done online or email etc.

It is popular and acceptable, but just check with your family and closest friends to make sure they wouldn't have an issue.

You could always print a limited number or RSVP cards if need be.

I'm doing this! I did think about my older guests, but if they're savvy enough to pester me for an invitation in FB they're savvy enough to e-reply. However, everyone knows how to contact us anyway if they can't do it online for some reason.

I'm doing both. I created a website on WW and already emailed the link to everyone invited. They all pretty much knew they were invited waaaayy in advance. Most of our family and some friends have already booked their rooms. Those that haven't I don't expect will come anyway.

Although the online RSVPs would have saved us money on stamps, I honestly really wanted to receive the RSVPs in the snail mail. I love opening them when they come in!

We did it all through TheKnot website and it worked out...okay...so far. We are still waiting on like 50 responses!!! But the deadline is not for another two weeks so who knows how it will go!

I've been considering doing this. I would probably just manually add the RSVP for our grandparents after giving them a phone call. I'm hesitant to do this but a little more convinced after reading these responses!

My question is... does it really save that much money? I still want to send invites in the mail. I don't know if RSVP cards are a significant cost or not, obviously I would save return postage. I plan on sending about 100 actual invites when I break down into households.

I thought it made the invitations seem less formal, so I did traditional paper RSVPs.

We did this, with a dedicated email address for people to reply to. it made things so easy.

ETA a few of our relatives didn't have email, so if we didn't hear from them we reached out to them individually. it was a small number of people so didn't pose a huge issue.
