One song for bridal party and bridal entrance??

Nicole, on May 5, 2016 at 5:23 PM Posted in Community Conversations 3 25

This is probably a weird question but has anyone thought or had just one song for everyone walking down the isle? I was thinking of just choosing one song, and then having my entrance at the bridge. I was at a wedding where the songs just ended abruptly, and it was sort of awkward, so I'm trying to avoid that! What do you guys think?!

My cousin did for her wedding. Everyone walked down the aisle to 1000 years, by Christina perry. Once the bride got to the alter, they faded out the song

I plan on using one song just because I hate it when everything is all choppy like you described. I don't think it will be awkward!

Yea a pro will fade it out. Very common to have different songs for BP and bride.

The awkward, abrupt ending problem should be fixed by using a decent dj and asking him to fade the song out. You could also just use one song. Personally, I like the option of fading out the bridal party's song and having a dramatic pause (only a few seconds) before the bride's song plays.

I would think it would depend on the number of people in your wedding party. I'm only having a MOH so we'll be going down the aisle to the same song.

I only used one song because my aisle was short and my BP was small. If I'd used 2 songs we would only have gotten a few seconds of each which would have sounded really odd to me.

We had 3 processional songs and none were chopped off. The 4 grandmothers and parents of the groom; the bridal party (12 members walked down the aisle individually), and then another one for my parents and myself. We had 2 soloists, 2 trumpets, and a keyboardist/pianist. I'm a vocalist and the ceremony, prelude and postlude music, were very important to me.

Okay, I'm glad others are doing one song! I don're really care about being super traditional, but didn't want to do something that was a complete no-no. Thanks ladies! :-)

If you aren't super traditional then yes you can do one song. I like it better for the bridal party to walk in with one song then everyone stands up as the bride starts to walk down the aisle to here comes the bride, but I'm traditional.

I used a different songs for grandmother/mothers, diff song for bridal party and the different song for my self and it went well and wasn't choppy. All the songs pertained to each grouping

I am doing one song for both my bridal party and I. I am going to time it so that the entire song and procession is done at the same time.

It just makes the most sense to me! We each have 6 members of our party, and they'll be walking down the isle in twos. I don't think our grandparents or parents will be walking down the isle for various reasons. I like the idea of hearing the story of one song instead of bits of a few!

First Wedding: 2 Different Songs.. Might rethink this one and do just one. Not sure yet. Haven't got that far.

I had a song I absolutely loved and wanted to walk down to but it wouldn't have worked with just me, so I had the entire BP walk down to it.

We had one song for bridal party and then one for us. Definitely didn't want to do all the starts and stops of different songs. It Flowed Very Nicely!

Hi Audrey: like you had, I just have my MOH and a best man só our party is so small. I think I like your idea of one song for all of us otherwise it will be like 20 sec or less of a song and then abruptly into another song for 20 sec or less. Not sure how long it takes to get down the aisle but the venue isn’t big.
I think one song to play while guests arrive is good too. We have no grandparents and only one parent (mom) to seat. So it’s hard figuring it out.
I also found coordinating best man and MOH attire wise difficult as bigger parties allow for variety.
