On the fence about buying thank you gifts.

Charlie, on June 7, 2019 at 6:13 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

Is it rude of us not to provide thank you gifts ?
None of my family has helped us for an entire year in wedding planning and 3-2months before our wedding,
they want to help (but shunned us and didn't involve themselves when I asked about a lot of things - mostly got ignored by pretty much my whole family) and make horrid comments saying "we could have done this and that" "you wouldn't involve us but there you go" (i did, multiple times) and the way they've treated me has been unbelievable .

Some of my family are now buying food for afternoon tea because "they want to be a part of the day" so i let them do that...

however, What should i do? Buy gifts or not?

It's ultimately up to you. Are you thankful for their help? The gifts don't necessarily have to be expensive.

You should thank anyone who is helping with your wedding in any way. It doesn't have to be an expensive gift. A hand written thank you note is plenty.

I think it would be nice to get or do something for them as a thank you since they are helping out somehow

Like PP said, writing a thank you card never goes out of style!
