My wedding is Saturday. My mom just informed me that my flower girl (my niece) will not be in the wedding, and that my brother and his family will not be attending due to COVID concerns. Which is fine, but to spring it on me two days before seems a little sus. She then indicated that she and my dad want to leave early, which is, again, fine, but now it's two days out and I have to figure out who is going to cut the cake (which she was supposed to do) and who is going to help me get dressed, etc.

I don't know what to do. I kind of want to call the whole thing off, but I'd be out SO much money. I'm just so confused.

    Some options are:

    - Cut the flower girl out completely (it's not 100% necessary, just nice to have)

    - If any of the people attending the wedding have a young child (girl or boy), see if they would be willing to be the "flower girl" - they literally just throw flowers down the aisle, so not too big of a job

    - For cutting the cake - see if someone at the venue could do it or even your FH could do it

    - For who will help you get ready - would any of your aunts/cousins/etc. be willing to help?

It's already a stressful time but 1-2 days from your wedding day I would definitely not cancel it. Good luck and try to de-stress!

Thank you for the suggestions and well wishes! I am just going to go without the flower girl and ask the caterer to help with the cake. I talked to my parents this morning and my mom is still going to help me get ready.

Ask someone in your bridal party to cut your cake. It's unfortunate that they are throwing that on you 2 days before the wedding, but don't let them ruin your special day.
