Old Hollywood Glamour Ideas :)

Britney, on January 21, 2011 at 2:10 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 24

I was wondering if anyone had any great ideas they have seen or used for Old Hollywood glamour weddings. I was also thinking of using ostrich feathers as centerpieces. Does anyone know where you can buy them wholesale? Thanks Smiley smile

Okay, here's the post. Scroll down, all the pics are at the bottom. There aren't that many with ceremony and reception details, but she has lots of pics on her fb so I'll get up with her and see if she minds me posting them Smiley smile

Price example: for 25 centerpieces the cost will be around $800 you need a MINIMUM of 50 feathers per vase and 4-5 lights per vase to get the look you always see when you google it. The feathers alone are going to cost you $600 no matter where you buy or rent.

    alternative idea....

    $138 for 25 feather boa, medium 100 grams. ($60 for 10)

    http://www.mardigrasparadebeads.com/100gramfeatherboas.html

or search for your own boas....

    12 28" Eiffel Tower Vases = $108 ($9.00 ea.) x2 = $216

    12 32" Eiffel Tower Vases = $132 ($11.00 ea.) x2 = $264

24 Flower Foam TOPS = $88 or just buy styrofoam balls at craft store?

    30 Submersible Battery LED 10 Lights~PURPLE $72

For one of my mom's brides, she wanted an Old Hollywood inspired wedding and she did black and white damask with a pop of hot pink! It was really pretty! Her invites were like old movie tickets that we found online. We used feather as part of the centerpieces as above.

If you're having a Hollywood Glamour theme-d wedding I would love to photograph it--I'd definitely give you a discount for awesome creativity! Some black and white photography would be pretty cool. Bright lipstick too!

I also thought this was neat. You can rent a red carpet with a customized backdrop. You can even rent the little poles with the red rope. It can be set up for you and guests to pose for photos...

Not cheap to buy or rent... You get 4 centerpieces via 1lbs of Plumes.

    http://www.eventswholesale.com/-strse-60/40"-scln--Ostrich-Feather-Centerpieces/Detail.bok site posted from above.

Very short feathers compared to other sites. Ostrich Drabs are typically much smaller than Wing Plumes. They may look similar but drabs are actually much different. The fibers are shorter and thinner and so are the quills. The tips of Drab feathers below 17" usually don't droop the way a Wing Plume's does
