Goodness. Like... it's always selfish, honey. Cute poems don't fix it.

....also, how does the fact that someone shopped off of your registry somehow change the nature of a gift and mean that strings are suddenly attached that wouldn't be of they had just randomly purchased a gift!?

You can exchange Zika gifts for cash? I always just click ship now lol, but then again I registered for the items in the registry because I want them

MrsWrs, I said that because the OP had mentioned not being able to find anything to register for having just bought a new house and I was like... really? NOTHING? More of a, it's hard for me to believe that you couldn't find anything having just bought a house. But I did mention to her to just not register if she truly believed that there was nothing she wanted.

As far as strings being tied, I get that - but if it were someone that showed up who bought multiple items and all of them were replaced? I'd be like.. what? Totally different if it's just the one or two things that didn't work out

Zola is actually fantastic as a universal registry. I put everything on mine (no, I didn't ask for money) and we've had gifts showing up at our doorstep since about January...(which was a complete surprise to us!). I get that people abuse it to return gifts and keep the money, but Zola is a legitimate universal registry for those of us who aren't working the system...
