Officiant at reception, where should he sit?

Kaylee, on September 23, 2013 at 11:58 AM Posted in Planning 0 4

My officiant and his wife are coming to the reception. We hired them to perform the ceremony and we did not know them prior. I am not sure where to seat him. I read on google that the officiant usually sits at the table with the parent but should I still follow that even though he is more or less another vendor?

I'm an officiant who has been seated at the vendors' table and also with guests (usually older relatives such as aunts, uncles, grandparents -- guess B&G think they will behave themselves).

I place our officiant at the table with my cousins. I didn't want to place them at the children's table and the parents table was full. Yes my cousins are younger and could be wild at times but with her sitting there it made them be on their best behavior Smiley smile

I think that suggestion re: parents' table is for officiants who have served as the family's religious leader, and not someone who was hired for the day. I'd put them with other older guests.
