# of seats per table

Linds, on February 7, 2017 at 5:20 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

Our venue has 72 inch round tables - which we've been told can fit up to 12 people. I am hard pressed that 12 adults wants to sit at a table that size - especially with chargers, wine glasses, etc.

My mother thinks even having tables of 10 will be crowded, but i think 10 would be the typical/comfortable level of seating.

Anyone that's had 72 inch tables (or especially vendors that are comfortable with table size and set up) - does 10 feel crowed with chivari chairs at a table? Does 6 feel too spaced out?

I'm just trying to figure out the RSVP for people who are coming (our side is totally RSVP minus one family so far).

Thanks!

If you have enough room, I'd do 8 at each table.

My venue has 72 inch tables also and they suggest 10 guests per table.

We have room, and we have enough centerpieces - but a few groups break into 10 evenly - otherwise they will be with odd combos of people. Or two tables of 5 - which I think would be way too spread out at the table. I'm even concerned putting 6 people at the table.

8 is my go to - tables I could make 8 - I'm aiming for it - but I'm just wondering if at the 2 tables that currently have 10, if that will feel too crowded to them. FH's immediate family is bigger sized people, and I made sure they had no more than 8 at any table.

I've always heard that you should seat 8 or less at 60-inch rounds and 10 or less at 72-inch rounds. If I were you, I'd do 8-10 but definitely not 12.

My venue has 72" rounds and they suggest 10 guest per table as well. They can squeeze 11 if they have to, and they do 8 per table, if the wedding is small, so they can fill out the room.

I think 6 would be too spaced out.

We saw what it looked like to have 10 at my venue with 72in tables, it was crowded and my mother begged not to put more than 8 or 9 at a table

We have the same size. 12 can fit per venue but we are doing 10

We are doing tables of 8. It's only for eating dinner, people tend to move around afterwards.

I had the same at my wedding and I refused to seat more than ten or eleven. 12 would have been too tight
