October Wedding

My wedding is October 14. We picked that month because there's an arboretum at our venue and thought it would make for some nice pictures. We also thought that summer was the most popular time for wedding. Wow were we wrong! Years out, we had vendors telling us they were booked for our date. I'm happy with the month we chose, but maybe I would have planned differently if I'd known that October was actually the most popular wedding month. Anyone else run into similar issues?

    Also an October wedding, also feel you on this lol. Our wedding planning was stagnant for a while with Covid and everything, then when we were trying to get everything done we ran into a lot of vendors who were booked up. I was talking to a friend who used to work in the wedding industry, and she agreed that October is basically the new June.

    Yup! We got engaged in October 2020 and were hoping for a year engagement to get married in October 2021... we were able to find a single venue with a date open. We instead decided to have a 2 year engagement and we even had venues telling us they were booking for 2023 in 2020!

    We are getting married on our anniversary of being a couple, had no idea October was a popular month outside of that!

    We only ran into one vendor (floral) that was already booked on our date when we asked. I don't think October is as popular here in the Pacific Northwest - I have mostly seen outdoor weddings in the Summer/late Spring.

    I'm 10/14 as well! But I booked everything 16 months in advance. Didn't know it was a popular month, I just got lucky. Smiley xd
