October honeymoon locations with warm sea temperature

Cheryl, on June 10, 2019 at 3:38 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 9

Hi everyone! We're getting married on 9/22/19 and are thinking about our honeymoon destination! We'd like to go somewhere in October (or early November if need be) and my priority is an area with warm sea temperature (in the 80s F). The Riviera Maya in the Mexico area would be my top choice, but I'm nervous about the potential for hurricanes. Aruba is another option I'm considering. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions, or experience with travel to Mexico or Aruba at this time of year. Thanks!

Jamaica is good to avoid hurricanes too. Sandals has a new resort there that is over the top! With specials since it's new. Over water bungalows and the whole nine.

Aruba is outside the belt. Curacao too. Both beautiful and warm.

I’ve been to Riviera Maya & Cancun area several times in August, September & November. Chances of hurricanes are the highest August to early October with September being the worst. I’ve never encountered a hurricane but I did experience lots of rain in September. November weather is usually very nice, so if this is your top choice destination & you can wait until November, I’m sure it will be fine.

I'm going to be in Riviera Maya in early October, praying that it's good weather but not gonna let rain get me down either Smiley smile I just wanted to take the honeymoon right after the wedding and I booked through a travel agent, so I hadn't thought about it too much!

I'll look further into Aruba and Curacao.

Waiting till November to go to the Tulum area sounds like a good idea! How much rain do you think we could expect that time of year?

Any other suggestions for warm water beach vacations that are reasonably priced in November? We will be traveling from Los Angeles.

October is the worst for hurricanes, especially on islands. That's a risk I wouldn't want to take.

If you're set on going overseas for you HM, then you can pretty much stop reading now. But I wanted throw out there that me and my FH are getting married in mid Oct. (with a honeymoon immediately after) and we love the beach. We also are on a smaller budget of about $2000. So we could have done a cruise but by the time you add all the fees, tons of gratuities, excursions, alcohol, hotel for the night before and after...it would have actually blown the budget and not been within the amount of time I have off for work.

SO we are going just North of Ft. Lauderdale FL. It's technically called Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. I've never been there specifically but I've been to Ft. Laud and Miami many times, and I love how it feels like a different country half of the time, but the other half is familiar. It's a good mix for us. There will be a lot less time traveling for us by doing this, and we'll be saving our money to spend on nice restaurants, fun day activities, shopping (2 of the 10 largest malls in America are in the area) and the VRBO we are renting out. Its about 80 degrees even during mid october, and I love that the little place we are going to has a small beach town feel and it quiet, but also has Miami and Ft. Lauderdale right there for everything you could ever want. Plus the water is some of the best I've ever seen, about equal to Punta Cana in my opinion!

Anyways, we don't feel the need to go overseas since there are amazing places in the states., and Lauderdale-by-the-sea is the places for us!
