Did you send out your "Save the Date"? We are pretty much at 6 mos away now and we haven't printed them out let alone sent them out! I feel a little guilty in going forward with planning. However, this pandemic is changing day by day. Who knows what will come next? Our stay at home order in CA has extended another 30 days. My heart hurts for all those who have been going through the worst of times with this virus. I am not a selfish person. I do not want to seem insensitive for even thinking about my wedding at times like this.

Most of all, maybe I am just venting. Lots of things going on in my head. If I print them out (planning on printing at Costco) will I be part of the problem because I am continuing my life? If I don't print them out, when will it be ok to print them? Will my guests have enough time to prepare for it? Will it be all a waste because who knows what the next 6 mos will bring?

Just thinking out loud now.

Thanks. I am finally starting our wedding website. Was thinking of adding it to our save the date in case we do need to keep everyone updated on any changes if any

    Hi Claudia !
We’re in the same boat! My save the dates went out last year due to guess coming from different states and countries. I’ve already our invitation but holding off till July to send. If you are able to enjoy and move on with your plans GO AHEAD! Just saw you’re monitoring the situation hopefully you have a wedding website to direct your guest to keep them abreast of the situation. But then again WE DONT KNOW what emotional strains they may be facing! On the other hand create an Evite ( to not waste stamps) letting your guest know what your plans are and oration your praying everyone is doing well and keeping safe and save your date and you’re hoping to see them soon. Just a suggestion . Good luck!

I’m an October 2020 bride and we just sent our save the dates, don’t think you’re being selfish at all. It is just sometimes hard to plan with everything going on but I do know how you feel. I am sitting here thinking when to start sending invitations lol hopefully things will die down within the next month.

I just sent mine out today for my October wedding, we had ours printed before the pandemic. If you are worried about going out during this, maybe you can order the prints online or create an e-invite for your save the dates. I wouldn't stress too much because a lot of people dont even send save the dates now, you could always send out your invites a little earlier too. Dont stress too much!

I sure hope things are better by then! My wedding is currently scheduled for May 23, but we're probably bumping back to October 23. It would be a HUGE blow to be unable to hold it even then. We've been engaged since December 2018, haha! Nearly 2 years at that point and 7 years together

I'm getting married in October, and I sent some of my Save the Dates out almost 2 weeks ago, right when they were first starting this mess. But I was intending on hand delivering the ones I see regularly at church. Only we haven't had church in 3 weeks now. But, most of them know already and those are obviously my in-town guests.

I still feel like Save the Dates are more superfluous, but it's definitely not selfish for you to continue with your own planning right now.

Thank you so much!! Same to you! It's a stressful time regardless of how far away your wedding is. There's just so much unknown about the future! Trying to stay cautiously optimistic!

It's not like we planned on getting married during this hectic time on purpose right? Hope your planning is going well!

We re having an October wedding as well. I skipped the Save the Dates and sent our invitations November 2019 with an RSVP of March 1--we had a great turn around. Reason being, 90% of our guests will be flying in for our wedding from all around the world, people can plan their vacation days, and it gives people plenty of time to budget hotel, gifts, attire, transportation costs etc. My fiance and I always skip to our own beat normally--I say you do what makes you feel at ease. I'm sure that it would make people feel excited to look forward to something like your wedding in a time where there is so much anxiety and stress in the world. Bring something positive into folks life with a simple invite. Its an invitation to be apart of your future... an invitation to getting back to normal.

I used mint.com to buy my save the dates and it was so cheap, I bought my stamps on amazon! They were both sent to my house fairly quickly, then I just put them in the mail after writing the addresses. Zero contact with anyoneSmiley smile I am getting married October 3rd, and we are moving forward with all the plans we have made as of right now! I feel you though, these are tricky times! We want to be considerate as well, but we don’t know what will happen by then. So we’re praying it will be safer by then! If not we will re-adjust I guess? Virtual wedding? Ha......

I hope it does not turn into a virtual wedding! Unless we have no choice! I never thought about buying stamps on amazon. Now I know! Thanks!
