Oct Wedding. Intermittent Fasting Okay? Beach Body Shakes?

Smiley ring Hi Ladies. So I am down a pants size...from a size 18 to a size 16W....i was so estatic when I was trying on clothes the other day. It is very painful not eating Lunch and trying to cut out a heavy dinner, but this seems to be working.


Smiley diamond I have a friend that is recommending Beach Body shakes and this remote online workout thing...but I don't know if I should do it.


Smiley cake Has anybody tried Beach body or these shakes that help you Loose weight?

    I haven’t done them but how those shakes works is you replace a meal with a very low calorie shake which puts you in a calorie deficit for the day. The only way to lose weight is consume less calories than you burn. It just matters what works for you because everyone is different.

    I would recommend several low calorie snack/meals throughout the day rather than skipping a meal. The more you restrict yourself, the harder it's going to be to maintain long term. Just track your calories and macros.

    I do intermittent fasting as well (usually not on purpose because I am sleeping haha) and love it! I actually find that I am not as hungry but when I know I am going to be active, I do eat. I have done the BB workouts but not the shakes. I personally am not a fan of shakes because I don't feel full or satisfied.

    This. Losing weight is simple math. It’s all about calories in and calories out. If you consume 3500 fewer calories than you burn, you will lose 1 pound. It doesn’t matter if you do that through diet, exercise, or a combination of both.

    I’ve not tried the Beach Body shakes or workouts, but I’ve considered it during times when I needed extra motivation. Their programs generally get good reviews and are effective, I like Premier Protein and Muscle Milk premade shakes. I drink them for breakfast and they keep me full until just before lunch. The key is to find a shake with a good protein-to-calorie ratio.

    I’ve done beach body. Their workout programs are definitely good workouts and effective. I personally didn’t care for the shakes. I thought they were kinda bitter and chalky. If you mix them with ice and fruit and yogurt in a blender they’re better but to just shake them in a bottle with milk I thought they were pretty gross. And I also agree with the pp that shakes just aren’t that satisfying as meal replacement. I’d rather just have a healthy meal of solid food. They’re good for on the go though!

    I have done Shakeology - the price was a killer. So I found an alternative, Garden of Life Raw Meal. It's pretty similar and $40 instead of $120!

    I have done Beachbody and the shake for years and took a break when we were in the house buying process because every dollar counted lol but I just started back up in preparation for my wedding in September! I haven't always liked the shakes but did find it to just take practice with different recipes until finding one I enjoyed. The workouts are great and I actually lost a ton of weight right after college doing them. So I am 100% for that program! I have also done intermittent fasting and I really like that! It took me a couple days to not get a killer headache from not eating until noon or 1 but I learned to push past that!

    I follow Beachbody. I do the shakes, meal plans, and workouts. I've lost 20lbs so far (over 10 months but could have been quicker if I was more strict and had less cheat meals).


    Beachbody definitely works if YOU work. I don't think the shakes ALONE will do anything.... except limit bloat. The key is the portion container system. Im sure your friend can tell you more.


    But yes I have had great success with it!

    I actually enjoyed the shakes. I found the key was to mix them with a non-dairy milk. My preference was almond. It was SO much better than dairy milk or water, in my opinion.

    And the workout online subscription is also really solid. Tons of videos you can play, on demand, from a computer or tablet. And many are really encouraging!

    That said, Shakeolgy is expensive for sure.

    Great job!

    IF is fine.. I have been doing it for weeks. As long as you eat enough during your window, you'll be good.

    BB shakes are full of sugar and a waste. You can make your own shakes at a cheaper price and control the ingredients you consume. BB workous are great but I wouldn't recommend getting sucked into their products.

    That is so great!!!! I definitely am loosing my belly...it's nice. I do the on demand workouts and love them. Everyday I eat good I feel great. I take it one day at a time and am trying to Move more and get out more.


    Protein and vegetables....seem to be the magic recipie. I have been making lots of food with protein powder like these cookie dough power bites...they are awesome for a quick snack on the go. I think the more I eat the more I'm loosing...like 5 or 6 small meals a day really does work.


    The scaled doesn't always reflect everything but does help keep me accountable. Thanks for your encouragement. I know you can loose more...Just keep up the good work and do what your doing! I will too.

    It's just that the shakes are soooo expensive....at least $100 for a bag of Protein Shakes?!!! It seems crazy. One thing I like is the streaming workouts though...those are really nice and I get recipies from my Coach and motivation from her as well....like dutch chocolate avocado!!! Yummmm. I'm actually loosing fat....i am skipping 1 meal...my Lunch and drinking a protein shake instead and trying to eat really clean.....I have never felt so healthy.

    Where do you get the Garden of Life Raw Meal powders and what flavors do they come in? What type of protein? I like pea or whey.

    I agree that she shakes are so expensive... each time I start a new program I at least use the shakes for 30 days because they truly help me curb cravings and help get me on track, other than that I refuse to buy their shakes. I fine that Vega plus greens is comparable and wayyyyy cheaper!!

    I do intermittent fasting but not to the point where I am in pain. This has helped me maintain my physique for a couple years now and I have noticeably more energy and better mood. I would not suggest skipping meals per se, but be more focused on the type of foods!

    Im so late on this, but i get them from vitamin shoppe usually. Its organic vegan protein blend. I think it's pea, hemp, brown rice and a few other grains.
