i’m definitely still in the early stages of planning. Our color will be teal and gold. We have settled on a date and a venue. But we haven’t confirmed that with the venue yet. About 3 weeks ago, we visited a few venues and trying to compare prices. It’s very difficult for me and finance since we are getting married in my hometown. I’m out of the state trying to finish my Ph.D. degree and he works in a different state. The great thing about the venue we are leaning on to go with helps with the whole planning (they have their own connections with officiant, photographers, cakes, cater, hotel rooms, etc.). Essentially we just have to tell them what we want and they will do all the “hard” work for us.
I was thinking about dress shopping end of the year or in January. Do you think that is too late for Oct 26, 2019?
Also, flower ideas? Does anyone have any great suggestions for a unique and cheap bouquets for a beach wedding?
October 5, 2019 here! We have a venue, photographer, DJ + photobooth, and caterer! I think I’ll pick my dress/flowers at the end of this year. And then next year I’ll do linens, decor, wedding bands. We’re trying to figure out if we should use shuttles from the hotel or not. I feel like we have most of the big stuff set, so now I can focus on other little details. We also need an officiant, but we may have a family member become ordained (if they agree) and do it, we have yet to settle on that idea!
We're 10/26/19 too! I went dress shopping last weekend but just for a trial run, see how I felt. I don't plan on doing official shopping until December or even January! So I'd say you're good
All the forums online say at least 8-10 months before the date; everyone is just excited! You're good!

October 10, 2019 here. I haven't even started. I have a plan in my head but haven't started the process. We are getting married in an elopement ceremony in Hawaii and the company I intend to use will take care of everything. All I need to do is show up with my dress. Which I plan to start looking for in Oct of this year.

We have the same date! And same rustic inspiration. I keep bouncing back and forth between colors though. One minute I want to do fall colors, the next I’m in love with dusty blue and sunflowers. But I’m afraid that’s too summery for that far in to fall 🙃. My Pinterest board looks bipolar!

I am booked for 10/19/2019. We have a barn booked for our reception and are doing the ceremony in the yard (weather permitting). My fiancé’s family is well-connected for weddings, so most things are “booked”. His mom coordinates weddings for a local company, so she’s helping me coordinate mine. She/we will be doing the catering because she has owned restaurants and done catering. She also is a certified baker and asked to do my dream cake like 5 years ago after I showed her my Pinterest board 😄. His uncle is an awesome DJ, so he’ll either supply us with the equipment and we’ll run an app. Or we’ll hire one of his DJs for the night (unless he decides he wants to do it himself). I’m currently working on setting the wedding parties in stone. It’s harder than I thought it would be! We each have 6 names, but is that too many? There are a couple on each side we could maybe cut... but we don’t want to hurt feelings. And we had to pick linen colors without having a full color scheme chosen. I ended up going with ivory everything because it will go with whatever I choose for the wedding scheme and it won’t make the barn too dark. But his mom is getting them through work, so we need to start setting them aside now. Oh and she just did a wedding at my venue for the first time. So she has an idea of what worked and what didn’t. Like she says 150 would be her limit on guests (even though the venue says 170). Which means we’ll have to be stricter on our guest list 😕.
That's a big 10/4/2019! I have my dress, venue, DJ, caterer, and honeymoon all booked. We still are bouncing between a couple bakeries for the cake. We have our photographer and our guest list is almost finalized.
We are getting married 10/12/19 and we are both so excited. I felt like I was really excited because of everything that I have accomplished, but after reading this discussion I feel normal. I already have my dress, the venue is booked, my Aunt is arranging my flowers (artificial flowers), decorations in progress (DIY), and thinking about food and photography. I bought my dress June 6th and it was the second dress I tried on. I did try on a lot more, just to make sure it was the one. The venue we selected is kind of like a Farm minus the animals. It is a beautiful, natural venue and all-inclusive. Bridal suite can be used Friday night and then can be used by me and my then Husband as the Honeymoon suite. Decorations are available for my use and glasses, drink dispensers, napkins and table runners are included. They will also set up everything for me the day of, no extra charge. My colors are royal purple or eggplant, teal blue, with accents of pink and other shades of blue. Sorry for all the tiny details. Just very excited!!!!! Excited for everyone else too.
I'm so glad there are other people out there planning early because I thought I was crazy! I just want to get things out of the way so I don't have to worry further down the road.
Oct 5th, 2019 here! So far, I have the venue, DJ, wedding party picked, colors (black, white and gold), dress and the hotel block. Should be finalizing photography and videography tonight. Honestly, besides being dirt poor now, wedding planning isn't as stressful as I imagined it would be. Let me go find some wood to knock on really quick!
I'm super excited about my dress! I got it at a sample sale which ended up being way below what I budgeted for
This dress is GORGEOUS. Can you share a pic from the back? Who is the designer? It is so elegant and unique. Love, love, love it. Might you keep it and cut the train later to wear for other occasions (anniversary dinner, formal evening out)?
We are planning a destination wedding to New Orleans. Our date is October 20th. I'm still trying to figure out a venue that would best work for us. Inclusive vs diy both seem to have a lot of pros and cons. I'm going to focus on a palate of colors more than a specific color scheme.
That sounds amazing! I've seen videos of couples dancing down Bourbon Street in their formal wear with a band behind them and it looks like so much fun
October 25th,2019 here! Just booked the venue the other day, already got the dress. My color is going to be Purple and then I’m doing Lace and Burlap accents. Going for Rustic Elegance.
Dress: NOT YET! I have no clue when I'm going to get my dress.
Guest list: Pretty much have a guest list, but some modifications may need to be made.
Venues: Booked!
Photographers: Not booked yet!
DJ: Family friend!
Menu: Still working through!
I actually haven't done a whole lot, I've mostly been obtaining ideas and getting advice from this wonderful community, it's like my virtual coordinator. I love this site!!!
