NYS sales tax on vendors?

It's normal sales tax. It varies slightly county to county. I paid 8%.

I don't know the rules for NY, but I know a lot of states only tax a physical product (i.e. the album the photog delivers) but not the service.

Same as our county's sales tax, 8%. But most of our vendors are from other counties so it is slightly more or less depending.

NY definitely taxes vendors but many of them have the tax built right into their price. If not they should make that known. And it's generally 8%

In NJ and NY, we don't charge tax on a service, (which is one reason we don't sell products....). It's a good question to ask your vendor or accountant.
