NYC brunch reception

Shairys, on March 21, 2014 at 11:31 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

My fiance and I are getting married and we're both very excited. We live in nyc and we are thinking about doing a brunch reception to cut down on cost. We definitely want to have unlimited mimosas, bellini's, etc. I would love to hear from other brides who plan to do this as well or have done it already. Does have any restaurant suggestions for a brunch reception? We plan on having approximately 80 guests.

Calle Ocho offers unlimited sangria during Sunday brunch. Saturdays though, I'm not sure if the sangrias bottomless. Their food is amazing. They have private room in the back for larger parties.

Beauty & Essex, Sarabeth's & Yotel are good choices too but my vote is Calle Ocho!

I LOVE the New Leaf Cafe. Also try City Hall (the restaurant), Red Rooster .http://redroosterharlem.com/menus/

Did you think about the other side of the hudson? the Waterside, Charthouse? How about boats?

It is beautiful and their food is pretty good. If you wanted, you could have your ceremony in the park for a small permit fee-- seriously awesome views of the Hudson River.

There's not really much else in the neighborhood, but you could block a hotel in Fort Lee area of NJ and provide a shuttle for any out-of-towners.

New Leaf is gorgeous, and don't forget it is right near the Cloister (pix). Fort Lee for guests isn't a bad idea at all; it's not far.

"Did you think about the other side of the hudson? the Waterside, Charthouse? How about boats?" Celia Milton-

we've decided to do a night time reception. We both realized that as nice a brunch reception sounds, we're not morning people. It would just be stressful. I thought of Celia Milton's advice and Jersey is a good idea and if it's not far from the city it would work.

@ Celia Milton- We looked at Waterside but It's out of our price range. Does anyone know of any affordable venues in NJ not far from NYC? By affordable I mean under 100pp.
