Help! I need advice, and if your going to comment 'get rid of one of them' don't waste your time. I just got a new kitten yesterday and this morning my english bulldog almost ate her! Help! I need advice, and if your going to comment 'get rid of one of them' don't waste your time. I just got a new kitten yesterday and this morning my english bulldog almost ate her! We introduced them last night and he got a crazy look in his eyes, then when I put the kitten in my daughters room for the night he was searching around for her. As soon as we woke up this morning he went tearing into the room after the poor kitty! He cornered her and lunged at her I had to pick him up and carry him outside or she would've been done for! What should I do? Will he ever get used to her or is she food to him? I'm so sad we've always had cats and dogs together growing up without a problem =(

Wow what a difference a week can make! After letting them "meet" eath other in small doses over the last week they are doing VERY well together =) I still don't leave them alone together but when I'm home the kitten roams free and the most he does is slobber all over her back (so she will get used to baths quick) they even play a little and he lets her paw at his nose! Such a relief!

Good to hear!! I was just going to tell you that last summer I adopted two kittens. My lab mix was fine with them, so gentle. But my little terrier. Oh. My. Gosh. She was crazed about them. Barking, chasing, lunging, trying to bite, etc. She has a really strong prey drive.

It just took time and slow introductions. We put the dog on a halter and leash and kept her that way around the kittens so we could control her and she couldn't chase them. It took about a month or two until she could be around them off leash. I honestly thought it was never going to work at the beginning! Now she is really good friends with them! They play together, sleep together, and groom each other.

Glad things are looking up for you!!!

How did it work out? My Friend is in a similar situation with her small dogs. They just got a new kitten today and introduction did not go well. Her daughter will be devastated if they have to give the kitten back to my mom.
