NWR - How often do you spend time with your in-laws?

Just a question that I happened to think of. How often do you spend time with/see your in-laws/future in-laws? Do you spend time with them when your FH/FW aren't around? (mostly aiming this question towards people who live within a close drive to their in-laws)

I don't have FIL. Both of FH parents passed away. But we meet with his brother and sister on a regular basis along with his aunt's and uncles.

Side note: My IL's are foreign born, and have pretty strong accents still - so phone calls are pretty tough to understand since I don't speak their primary language. They also don't text.

I am starting to work on my understanding/knowledge of their language (DH is helping me a little bit) so I may start to feel more comfortable - but they often don't speak English when we're together, so it makes it more uncomfortable which makes me hate being there more. I'm trying to work on it, but that makes it tougher to enjoy being with them without DH for sure.

We do dinners maybe twice a month. But we see them probably 3-5 times a week. I've been doing a lot of wedding planning with my FMIL she is very involved. We have a good relationship. And sometimes we do hang out with out my FH and it's not weird at all.

His parents are more involved then mine, so I am very thankful.

Three times a year: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Mother's Day. It was more often when the kids were little, maybe twice a week.

We're ten minutes away from each other. I used to be alone with them and the kids a lot. It was and remains generally unpleasant.

His family lives within 10min of us while mine are about 40min away. We see his mom about once a week for dinner.

I hardly see them because they don't like me. When we do see each other we're very cordial, but it isn't that often. My love sees them at least once a week.

Sunday dinner is every week with his family. I've been without FH if he can't make it and I can. They invite me to do things without him and I'll go if I don't have other plans. I feel like it's a second family more than "his" family.

My mother in law lives in our house so I spend a lot of time with her one on one. I think of her like a roommate/friend.

We live in Florida and our families are in Oklahoma and Arkansas so...hardly ever. Maybe twice a year if we're lucky. I haven't spent much time with them without H, but mostly that's because I haven't had the opportunity. They're sweet people.

Probably twice a week. I also see them without FH. I have a much more flexible work schedule than him, so sometimes I'll pop over during the week when they have our niece.
