NWR Comfortable earrings for new piercing

KDS, on April 24, 2016 at 10:59 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

I recently got my ears pierce and am struggling to find earrings that are comfortable. My mom gave me a ton of hers, but I can't find any that are comfortable to sleep in/wear all day. I took out my starter earrings because my ears were healed and I replaced them with hypoallergenic studs. But the backs are really uncomfortable and are irritating my ears.

Any suggestions on what to look for with a comfortable earring or back? Should I still sleep with earrings in? I'm afraid they will close up if I leave earrings out for 9 hours.

Some people are just sensitive to metals. Have you tried gold? I know my mother cannot wear any other metals in her piercings.

I've found rings comfortable when compared to posts. I bought surgical steel rings on bodyartforums.com and have had no problems. I still wear my starter posts in one set of piercings but they have a flat back so no poking. You might look into those kinds of posts. Also, sometimes it takes longer than they say for the ears to heal.

Try to wear small gold studs. If your ears are done healing take your earring out at night to give your ears a rest. I hate sleeping in my earrings!

I can't sleep in mine anymore because of the backs. Look for the ones with the screw on backs (usually kids). That will keep them from poking you while you sleep.

Go check out your local tattoo/piercing shop! They will have earrings that the backs screw onto, or even earrings with flat backs. Plus, these are usually high quality earrings made with metals that are good for your ears!

Gold may also be a better choice for you. I sleep in all my earrings, but I didn't for a long time. I'm just used to them!

My friend has the same problem with the backs, she wears the rubber backs on all her earrings instead and that helps her. For wearing them all day, make sure you wait to wear heavier earrings. They can pull on your earlobe and even if it's healed up, your ears may not be quite ready for them.

Go to a piercing shop. They usually have ear rings that a ball screws on so it's not poking your head. That's what I wear.

I understand, it was a big problem for me. If I take a piece of jewelry off I lose it! I found the round earrings that the prong goes inside the back of the earring works great for me. I have little stones down the front so they work for both work and casual.
