NWR; Apple watch

LauraBeth, on May 3, 2017 at 10:06 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 19

I have been wanting an Apple watch for what seems like forever now. For those of you who have them, what are your thoughts on them? Are they worth the money? Or will this be just another high dollar purchase I use for a couple weeks and forget about?

I love mine! FH got it for me, and I thought I would hate it but I love it. I like the feature of being able to see a text and sending a quick response since I'm not supposed to have my phone out at work. I also use it to motivate me to work out and keep moving. It supposedly tracks how many active calories you burn, steps taken and your heart rate. I don't know if it's the most accurate thing but it's a good reminder.

Following. I really want one too but have the same fear you do! One of my coworkers has one and she loves it!

I got mine as a Christmas gift this year. It's the Apple watch with Nike Plus running on it. Basically it has it's own separate GPS in it so it's great for people that run often. I don't even take my phone with me anymore because you can add music right to your watch. You can text from it and answer calls. At work it's perfect because if I get a text I can check to see who its from without needing to take out my phone and looking distracted. Overall I'm a big fan and get so mad at myself those rare times when I forget to put in on before leaving my apt.

I'm thinking that I will love it, but I also thought that about the FitBit I had and then forgot about lol. I bet this will be different than the FitBit though since it does way more. thanks for the input guys!

I had one, stole it from FH because he said if I liked it I could keep it.

I used it mostly for the workout, but found it more of a distraction because I was able to reply to my msgs. I gave it back to him and said I'm ok without it.

For my bday in December, he got me the Fitbit Alta, I love it!!!

I am able to see my texts, event reminders, but not respond. It tracks my sleep, my steps, and is lightweight. I love it! Oh and the charge is way better than the apple watch. I can go days without charging my ALta. iwatch, every night like a phone.

I really like mine. FH got it for me for Christmas. My calendar is all on my phone so I love the event reminders on my wrist.

I love mine. I had the original one but it wasn't waterproof so I couldn't swim with it. When the series 2 came out, I traded up. It's become like an extension of my arm lol. I use it to run, workout, swim, and because I am a teacher and can't have my phone out around the kids I can see my messages and whatever.

Good question. I have a Fitbit Charge 2 and was wondering if I should switch over?

I like mine because it accurately calculates out how many calories you burn during exercise with the HRM and using other data. I have the activity app that sends you reminders to stand at times you can't stand at work.

I like mine so much, but I forget to wear it a lot. They have poor battery life (about 24-48 hours depending on how much you use them), so I often take it off to charge and forget to put it back on! However I do like it way more than the Fitbit I had. More accurate as far as steps and calculating other work outs!

I personally love my Fitbit flex 2! I thought about the Apple Watch but I've never been a watch girl.

I want one also but didn't want to splurge because I still like to wear my fashion/dressy watch also. So, I got the Fitbit Blaze. I honestly think it's pretty similar to the iWatch. I get my texts, phone calls, notifications and can control my music from the Blaze. I love it and it was about half the price.

FH bought me one a year ago. I really didn't think I wanted one but its very helpful during the day. I hate leaving home without it. You will definitely love it.

Thanks everyone! I just bit the bullet and ordered one Smiley smile I ended up with the series 1 though since it is cheaper and since I wouldn't be needing it to be waterproof

I have the series one FH bought it for me for Christmas like almost 2 years ago!! Personally I love it, I use it a lot for my workouts I box 3 times a week plus weight training 2x a week so it helps keep track of everything. Plus I really like the step tracker and I know iPhone has a speedometer built in but I don't take my phone everywhere so I like the fact that I can still get my steps tracked without my phone. Also seeing messages quickly or emails is a nice added feature. I haven't had any issues with mine. I may decide to upgrade it one day but for now it's working just fine and I felt that the 2 wasn't too much different from the 1 because just like iPhone you get the new update on the watch too.

I love mine! I use it all of the time, and I love paying with Apply Pay at the stores, it's so easy. When I travel for work my boarding pass is on it and all I have to do is scan it off of my watch. I feel like it keeps a pretty good record of your movement throughout the day and it's accurate. I had a fitbit before the watch and I love the watch so much more. FH got rid of his when he switched to Android (boo) and regrets it because it works so well.

ETA: The series 1 watches are pretty water proof. FH used to wear his in the shower all of the time. I wouldn't recommend swimming with it, but some water wont hurt it.

You won't regret ordering it! I love mine, it is a great workout motivator.

Also, I recommend sweaty bird for an exercise app on it. Its a great way to track your active calories vs calories burned and the little penguins on it are so damn cute!

I love mine. I got the original from Target since it was on sale. The upgrades on the second gen weren't worth the extra money to me.
