Numbering RSVP Cards/Envelopes

Courtney, on February 23, 2016 at 11:56 AM Posted in Planning 0 19

How many of you did or are planning to number your RSVPs either on the card itself or the envelope to help with organization, especially if a guest(s) forget to put their names?

My main question is how and where did you do it. I have heard people just writing them in the corner somewhere or the back where they may not see it. I've also heard people using invisible ink. Our list is random for the most part as far as the number guests are assigned, I'm not too worried about people wondering about the number they were given. I just don't want it to seem sloppy putting a random number somewhere.

Thanks! Hoping to start working on them this week!

I just did it really small with a fine point pen on the back of the RSVP card.

However, I also put a return label on the RSVP card envelope so I could track it that way unless they send it to me in a different envelope for some reason.

I numbered the back of my envelopes. It was really helpful!

We put ours on the back in the bottom corner in regular black ink. One person who wrote a note on the back drew an arrow pointing at it (they happened to be #100 due to numbering them alphabetically), but I think most people didn't even notice. We added a few more guests after initially numbering them and just put them sequentially after the rest.

I like this idea and plan on doing it! I figured I'd write it on a back corner of the actual RSVP just in case people don't use the provided stamped envelope.

I just used a nice black pen and numbered the bottom right hand corner. No one made any mention of the number on the card they received.

I plan on doing it with just a pen.

I didn't want it to show and my invisible pens didn't come on time so I snuck in my pen inside the envelope and numbered them that way.

I wrote ours on the back corner. It's been helpful a few times so far - the majority of the RSVP cards we've received so far haven't come back with return addresses so it's a surprise who it belongs to until they're opened. We've received a few with no indication at all as to who they belong to so it's nice to be able to reference the number. I really don't think anyone pays attention.

We put small number on the back of the RSVP card. We were going to use an invisible pen, but my writing is small enough. And on the back of the card I doubt it's that noticeable....

I used invisible ink pen and put the number on the back of the cards. the only thing I will suggest is that depending on what kind of paper you have, you may have to let the ink dry for a while so it doesn't smudge.

Our RSVP cards are like a more glossy paper so I didn't at first and I smudged a few before I realized what I had done

I did! Just wrote it in the bottom corner on the back. So far no one has forgot to write their name, but FH's family did get theirs all mixed up and sent two back for the same person so it's already been helpful. It was a little more stressful assembling them and making sure everyone got the right number, but nothing too crazy!

I wrote a really small number on the back bottom corner of the RSVP. I doubt anyone will notice.

I did it with a small number on the back in a corner, normal pen. Not one person forgot to write in a name, though!

That's everyone! I also forgot that the back of our RSVPs were dark blue to it hides the number even better!

I just wrote them very small in the corner on the back of the card with a regular pen. I doubt anyone will notice but if they do I don't think they will care.

The back of my rsvp cards are navy blue and I wrote the number in a pink sharpie. It really blends in quite well but I can still see it. I know maybe it wasn't the most elegant thing to do but quite frankly I just didn't care that much. I was ready to stuff my invites and I wasn't going to wait to order an invisible pen/blacklight combo.

I did it on the back in the corner. The paper was black and I used black ink, so they might be able to see it, but it won't be super visible.

On the very bottom of our invites I put "please RSVP by ____ to email address" less to print out and less for them to loose. Lol. On the envelope I addressed to Mr&Mrs Name +2 (usually kids or estranged spouses) don't sweat the small stuff. I figure when they email me yes or no they will say "oh my husband and I are coming but I will leave the kids with a nanny"
