Number of quests that actually show

Amanda, on July 8, 2017 at 2:31 AM Posted in Planning 0 35

I was want it opinions on how many guests you invited as to how many actually showed. I am inviting about 100 but would rather have about 75 or less show up. I want to invite these people still so they have the chance and dont feel unimportant but need a smaller quest count. What's your experiences?

Plan for 100%. It "can look" gift grabby/ greedy to over-invite.

No one cares about your wedding as much as you. Most will offer congrats after the fact. Life will go on.

Have the wedding you want. 75 or less, and don't stress.

I'm so confused- why invite 100 people but you only really want 75 or less to show up? I find that very odd. Anyway, expect 100 to attend or cut off your guest list.

I read wedding invitation refusal rates are 15%-20%, more towards 25% if you have international guests. I included a 20% refusal number in my invitation count (e.g. target 150, invited 180) because I didn't want to do a List A, List B invite list.

Invite how many you can afford. We originally started with a rough draft of 125. Our final count is 60, if every person shows. We had also wanted a smaller guest count because we kept in mind of price per person, and time to enjoy our selves and spending time with our guest the day of.

I'm in the same boat! We have 105 on the list but I'm hoping around 80-90 will show. (Yes we can afford to host everyone), but about 20 of those are OOT so I'm curious if they'll be able to make it, 4 are in England so I'm 99% sure they won't be able to make it. I guess it depends on how many OOT guest you have and if you're having adults only.

We invited 122, 112 rsvpd yes, and 107 guests attended our wedding. You always plan for 100% attendance. Sometimes people bring extras, you just never know.

I am planning for 100%. If I don't-then why did I invite them?

We invited around 125 people, 80 attended. You definitely do need to account for 100% until you get your RSVP's back.

So long as you can accommodate and afford all 100, it's OK to invite 100 and prefer 75. But you should be prepared to host them all.

For us we invited about 100 or so and 87 were there. A few were courtesy invites so we knew they would not attend. However, our venue can accommodate them and we could afford if everyone showed up.

I think this is a know your crowd type of thing. FH's family (80% of the guest list) is super close and weddings are a big deal to them. We invited about 215 and are expecting about 200.

We're inviting 180 but I'm hoping for 140-150 to show up. No issues if everyone comes. But we did give everyone plus ones and a lot of people are out of town.

If you only want 75 or less, then you should invite like 80, in case they all decide to show!

One of my friends invited about 240 guests and she said the majority showed up! (About 230). And they only had a 3 month engagement!

We invited 80 and 70 RSVP'd yes. Just a couple of days ago I had some people say that they can't make it, so now we are at 67. And I also have a few people who are now saying that they won't know if they are actually coming until the day of the wedding, which is a week from today. I'll probably end up having some no shows..
