Let me start off by saying this isn't about the wedding necessarily or even complaining about how a bridesmaid isn't involved. So one of my bridesmaid and I talk basically every single day which is great. My bridesmaid, lets call her Jams, her life always seems to be very dramatic. I'm not into that kind of thing, but I always listen to her. She has problems at work, my opinion is partly because she brings drama on herself. She has lately also been going between 2 guys, not my place to judge but I do try to encourage her to pick the healthier relationship. One of the guys she has been getting with is married and in my mind manipulates her. The other is single but shy; which she doesn't seem to like. So that's her current situation, just get an idea of what's going on. I have a stable job at a law firm and a great relationship with my FH. But a few years ago, I went through something I never thought would happen. We had a shooting at my workplace where someone was killed unfortunately and tragically. I was there during it, and it has affected me. I went to counseling and therapy, still go to this day. But some days I just have bad days. I got into a bit of a funk on Saturday, when Jams messaged me about something about work and the shy guy (she works with both of the guys at a restaurant). I told her that I may not be the best person to talk to today and why. My FH was trying so hard to talk to me and get me out of; he did after awhile. But what hurt is that I'm always there for Jams no matter what. After I told her I was in a funk and may not be the best person to talk to she responded with "It's fine." I was so upset with her, because I don't ask for a lot and I feel like a sounding board most of the time. I messaged her on Sunday telling it that she hurt my feelings, because she didn't bother asking me what was going on or anything. My funks don't happen often and are very rare, so I don't reach out too much about them. Plus usually my FH, parents and counselor are good at getting me out of them. I'm still kind of upset right now about this whole thing, I feel like she just doesn't care about my feelings or anything. Any advice on what to do. My FH gets annoyed with Jams a lot too and doesn't feel like she is a good friend. Sorry if that's a lot of info, but I just don't know what to do about this. My MOH thinks that it might be best to take a break from Jams for a bit, but I could see that completely ending my friendship with Jams.

I'm not defending Jam's day to day behavior but she contacted you to talk about an issue. While you said you were not feeling up to it because of your own issue you feel she needed to make you feel better?
Of course it maybe a little impolite to not say I hope you're doing well later or if you want to talk it out, I'm here.

Actually yes because what I said to her is how I reach out. I'm never going to say or make it all about me that's not how I am.

It sounds to me like she is very wrapped up in her life and what's going on with her. I can see why your hurt but I think you could do all you really can when you let her know you were upset. Good luck to you though I hope it all works out for the best!
