Not happy with my wedding photos

alison, on July 17, 2013 at 9:53 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

I am not happy with how my wedding photos turned out.. do you think I should do a retake shoot or just move on? had anyone else ever not been happy with the results?

thanks!

    Alison,

Your wedding photos are something you are going to look at forever! If you are unhappy with them, I would definitely suggest going out for another shoot. Talk to your photographer and see if she will work with you on doing an additional shoot of you and your groom. Obviously you won't be able to re-enact the entire day, but you can get some beautiful portraits of you and your groom that you will LOVE and cherish forever.

What exactly is wrong with them?

I've seen some redos, but with just the bride and groom though.

Thank you.. there aren't any portraits of me and my whole dress, or any of me and my husband both looking at the camera... i just want a few great shots to hang in our home but not sure if its worth the money of redoing hair/makeup, hiring a photog.. etc..?

I think it would be worth it totally! If you aren't happy with the photos though I wouldn't hire the same photographer, I can't believe they didn't have you pose for those kind of shots, what was she thinking?!

I had the same experience. Most of my pictures are either very unflattering of me, a couple unflattering pics of my DH, way too many of the little kids in the wedding party, and some of the stupidest pictures taken. AND none of the standard shots. I am very disappointed to say the least. I do have a few good ones, not many. I too, have considered contacting her or getting someone else to do some shots of us, but money is the issue at the moment. If you do have the money, I would strongly suggest that you get the shots of your DH and yourself and some others. Let us know what you decide to do as I am very interested.

Welcome to WW, Alison! I'm happy with my wedding photos, but I'm likely going to do a shoot in all our wedding gear for our anniversary. My engagement photographer has a different style than my wedding photographer did and I'd love to have some photos of us in a different style than the wedding. Plus it'll be more relaxed and fun since there won't be the stress of the actual wedding.

I hope you'll stick around and help the ladies that still need advice for their wedding. If you do, please update your avatar (the rings) to ANY unique picture from Google we can more easily remember.
