Not enough food...

Well. I ordered catering for 100 people, thinking this would be enough. However, a week after the RSVP deadline, most of my family (of course) decided they actually would be coming after all. So now I have 120 coming, but only ordered for 100 people. What are my options??? Is there a way around this? Should I make more food on the side to stretch it a little?

    Can you call the caterer? Usually they require numbers about 10 days to two weeks before, which you're still well in advance of. They might be able to change their numbers?

    Get off Wedding Wire and call your caterer ASAP...hopefully they will be able to A: accommodate this or B: have already anticipated this scenario and have already estimated this.

    I also would have told my family that I was sorry, but not would be unable to accommodate them at the wedding as they clearly ignored the date requested for the RSVP

    Yep give them a call...see what expenses might change...Depending on the cost should help you decide if it would be easier to have someone make some food to help it stretch or better to pay the caterer more.

    You still have over 2 weeks until your wedding. Your caterer should have plenty of time to accommodate. Give them a call and let them know that you'll need enough food for 20 more.

    My caterer is giving us up to 2 weeks before the wedding to get final head count. You have time, call them!
