Not close father/daughter dance

Breyanne, on September 13, 2019 at 11:07 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7
My dad and I don't have a very big bond in our relationship, so I didn't want to do a father/daughter dance. I know him and his side of the family would be pretty upset if I didn't, so does anyone have any suggestions for a song I could use for the dance?

Do it with your mom, or another male in your life who you’re close to. It’s your wedding day, don’t let other people force you to do anything you’re not comfortable with

Agree with PP. Do not be railroaded by other people's expectations.

None of my Paternal Unit’s family were invited, especially him. I don’t know those people and he has not been a Father, so he better not even walk past my venue. “You have to pay the cost to be the boss” in my opinion.

I just invited my half Sisters (one older, one younger) yesterday and my Wedding is next Saturday.

Here are some song ideas which aren't very sentimental or emotional which you may like -

    “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac
“Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder
“She’s A Rainbow" by The Rolling Stones
“What A Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong (My favorite!)

You could choose a very pop culture song or soundtrack to "dance" to. I'm not suggesting the overpopular "Thriller" by MJ but some like that is an idea. Something that could get everyone jamming out.

I’m not very close with my dad either. He was great when I was growing up but can’t seem to handle adult relationships. Plus he married a psycho who doesn’t want him to hang out with his daughters alone.

Im planning on dancing with him to Wildflowers. It’s a song written by Tom petty after a divorce. About wanting the other person to move on and be happy. Seemed fitting to me.
