Not another bridesmaid gift idea post

I’m a person who really cares maybe even too much about what I gift people. With that, I’ve heard from multiple people outside and inside these forums that bridesmaid gifts should be things they can or will need for the wedding and other say differently. All I know is that this is one area of the bridal stuff that’s really making my flustered because as I mentioned before I care too much sometimes about what I gift. So, I’ve come here, I’ve browsed around but at least all I keep reading is gift them like it’s their birthday or the same old song…bridal robes, compact mirrors, tumblers, jewelry…that’s fine for others but I’m looking for something I can’t quite put my finger on…maybe that’s where you come in…

Our theme is an old Hollywood wedding premier. So far all I got for the girls are Cinderollies so they can fling off their heels at the reception if their heels are killing them. Makes for a good gift they can use after too I thought, a travel sized lotion spray and sanitizer set from Bath & Body, and a personalized Hollywood theme picture frame that I plan to take a pic with each girl and send it to them once the theatrics are over so they can put it in there. I’ve thought about putting any items into a bag of some sort maybe with their first initial (I don’t like bridesmaid title stuff) but I’m not sold on the idea…. I’m completely stumped. I’ve made it clear to my bridesmaid that they’re all individuals and I didn’t require the same dress, shoes, jewelry or hair. I’ve only said pick a black dress everything else is up to y’all. In regards to “shop like it’s their birthday” there’s a little bit of a problem with that. Some of my ladies I don’t have a very close relationship to, cool as hell but even when I reached out to the family about it they were stumped on what those ladies interests were. So I’m back at square one. I thought maybe a Starbucks card to maybe caffeinate yourself cause it’s going to be a busy day or maybe some movie tix to fit our theme…but I just feel like it’s not…enough? Are you still reading? 😂 Thought I lost you there, is your brain hurting yet?

Those are not gifts though as a thank you for all of the time/money/emotional investment they have put into being an attendant. The same way that robes/pjs/jewelry/hair/makeup/dresses/shoes/proposal boxes are not gifts. They are essentially props for you. Definitely do not get names/titles/initials on anything.
You really should not be asking anyone you are not super close to to be your bridesmaid. I find it difficult to believe that someone’s own relative has no clue what their interests are. How did you meet them and what interests do you have in common that will work as a gift? Of the ones you are close to, what are their interests and hobbies? Gifts should be based on their individual interests.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 You are me and I am you...it's the ending for me LOL! Love this post...so I'm totally the same and this is EXACTLY something I'm still stuck on. So a few months back I sent out these little this or that cards to them so they could select their interest, fav color, food, etc. It definitely helped in giving me some direction but I think treating it like a birthday is the best advice. My one friend loves the jumbo hot mama sausages and she ate them like crazy when we were in college so guess what's going in her bag...hot mama sausages 😂 Along with an initial necklace (loves jewelry) and Starbucks gift cards (she loves them too). My other friend is a Leo and loves candles and lovessssss being a Leo so I found a cute funny Leo candle on Amazon and the candle fits her personality perfectly so that's going in her bag lol.

Even though I have those small things mapped out I still want to get them something else because I too care a lot about what I gift people but hey I think that makes us pretty great humans lol! 🤷🏾‍♀️ So maybe use the card idea to send out to them so you can get some feedback. It's like a little game for them and pinterest has all sorts! Also getting them a robe and the famous tumblers because their just so cute and my friends actually like water bottles but I'm going to put nicknames instead; I don't like the bridesmaids stuff either. One friend has a hair business called Bella Bizarre so hers will say Bizarre and will be in an ice blue color which is her brand color. Another friend won't get a tumbler because she loves coffee so she's getting a coffee travel cup. I think it's easier when you give gifts based on the person and not the whole group.
Just go with things that are fun, something they can actually make use of and that have meaning to both you and them. Think of any past memories you've shared that might be fun to bring back up. One time I cut one friends bangs too short in college by mistake 🤣 so I'm throwing in a custom made card that looks like scissors and I plan on writing a funny note. And for the ones you aren't closest to, use the cards! I hope this helps, good luck!

Thank you! I never thought of this or that cards. I think for me it would have been more easier if I had maybe 2-3 bridesmaids but I have 8 which isn’t a huge amount but trying to find a perfect gift for 8 is hectic. Thanks again for the idea!

No problem at all and wow 8 lovely ladies; yeah I only have 3 lol! But get the basics, 2 - 3 trinkets and some of their fav snacks!
