Non-traditional fob gifts

Kimberly, on February 1, 2020 at 11:13 AM Posted in Planning 0 3
So many things about our wedding are non-traditional. But one thing I am having a hard time finding is gift for my “dad.” My biological father is no longer in the picture so I will be having the man who has supported me in all dad roles for the past nineteen years by my side!

I am struggling to find non-traditional FOB gifts. Does anyone have any suggestions/things they have done or used in similar situations?

Honestly, what we did for our parents was tell them the gifts would be photo related. After I got my pictures back, I bought photo collage frames for each set of parents and printed pictures. Then gave them the filled photo frames as gifts. They enjoyed that way more than things like cuff links or whatever. When I showed my dad the photo frame, he teared up and said it needs to go right near the front entrance so everyone can see (he is normally not a very emotional person). I made sure to choose photos that had my parents, brothers, and niece in them as well as ones with husband and me. My in-laws appreciated them as well. However, both of our parents aren't really gift people. They prefer more sentimental things rather than physical objects because they'll usually just buy whatever it is they want for themselves (which makes the holidays so difficult lol!).

Hey Kimberly. I love the idea of a framed photo from the day. You could also add a poem or personalized thank you note to the frame. I think this would be a wonderful way to say thanks, nice and sentimental.
