non traditional ceremony music

I think any song selection will be a personal choice. Wedding wire has a large selection of music choices for any aspect of the wedding ceremony and reception.

I am leaning towards lumineers ho hey for my walk down the aisle, or john legend's all of me instrumentals.

For the bridal party and families, maybe ask them if they have any preferences for them, and then you choose for you what you would like, since the music is often different for your walk.

And another thing to go with this- the guitar player also sings- he'll be playing at our cocktail hour. Do you think we should have him sing the songs we pick at the ceremony or just instrumental??

Can your guitarist provide you with a list of his repertoire? I know most professional ceremony musicians will charge extra if they have to learn a new song for your wedding, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to start from his list and go form there. Also, some songs may work with guitar, while others wont.

Otherwise, I like the list at this site-- it is categorized by style and even has some samples right on the site. Also, these are songs that can be played by a guitar and cello duo, so I'm guessing the chances of them working with guitar are pretty good.

I would play the theme from princess bride on the guitar. That would be phenomenal. However, I am have a 4 piece string quartet. My song choices are:
