Non Religious Wedding

Alexciaya, on December 9, 2019 at 8:24 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 11
Hi! So me and my fiance are both Wiccans. We are getting married, but was wondering how to go about having a non religious wedding. Please no hate from anyone who is religious. To each there own. But does anyone know who can marry us, where else we can get married besides a chapel. Etc.

Easy...just book an officiant that will travel to you. Most officiants will customize the wedding how you want. I am Baptist but my fiance is basically an aethiest (more on the agnostic side) so I will make sure our ceremony remains about love and religion is not a part of it. I love God but I am fine with the ceremony not coming from a religious standpoint. In regards to where to get married depends on what you want. There are plenty of venues such as hotels, gardens, parks, etc... just depends on what you want to spend. Mine would be an outdoor elopement.

Who can perform marriages varies state by state (so you will have to look this up for your location; start with your county registrar or City Hall). Some states allow anyone to get ordained (online) and conduct marriage ceremonies. Some require licensed officiants. But there will definitely be secular officiants available for hire in your area. You just have to do a little Googling.

I am non-religious and got married at a court house by a judge.

Congratulations on your engagement. It depends on your venue. Some venues offer you to have the ceremony and the reception all in one. And the ceremony would not have to be religious or it could be non denominational. so once you research a venue you can find out if they would allow you to have a ceremony there as well. Wishing you all the best.

My fiancé and I aren’t religious and are eloping in the desert. Our officiant gave us different ceremonies to choose from and is willing to customize it however we want.

There are many types of officiants you can choose from, many of which will do non-religious ceremonies.

I’m having a friend get his license from the Universal church ? For $75. He’ll marry us on the beach or at our venue. We’re doing our own vows. You can also do it wherever you pick up your license, aka City Hall.

My FH is also agnostic, so we're getting married in a beautiful chapel sans religious trappings besides the one reading I asked his very good and very religious friend to handle. My aunt is actually going to marry us - she married my mom and my stepdad and will use the same ceremony.

We are doing the same thing! We aren’t Wiccan, we just aren’t religious. We are getting married in the courthouse the day before and having my uncle do a special non religious ceremony the day of our wedding. It will be special to have him do this for us and we don’t have to worry about getting him ordained.

I just hired an officiant. We told them about ourselves and what our values are, how we define marriage, etc. They then helped us put together a service for us.

I'm going to ask my aunt to marry us as she's already ordained and we're getting married at a beautiful old Victorian home with a garden.
    Most outdoor venues are secular.

I think you can look for a "non denominational" officiant, meaning they marry anyone of any belief, on Thumbtack!
