Non girly bridesmaid gift on a budget?

6-22-19 Mrs.williams, on July 26, 2018 at 11:33 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10
I cant think of anything to get them that isnt way to expensive or just not them. They dont do robes, totes, cosmetic bags or jewelry. They already have enough flip flops( and will be wearing some at the wedding). I was thinking the personalized tumblers but I feel maybe that's kinda dumb. They are not really that girly in any sorta way. Any other ideas would be awesome!

You don't have to get them the same exact thing. Set a specific spending limit ($40/50) and just shop like its their birthday.

Personal tumblers, mugs, shot glasses, wine glasses, beer glass, or water bottles? I got a personalized jewelry bag and box (2 different weddings) -- I don't really do jewelry either, but I LOVE THEM BOTH because of the people who gave them to me! ... I am going to do something personal with each and every one of them after the wedding madness is over -- hopefully within 3 months when my budget has recovered a little. Like a spa day or shooting pool or for out of town ask her husband what she likes to do and get a gift card. For the wedding I am getting them part of the wedding attire (the need cloaks because it is outdoors in january) and matching jewelry and a handwritten not of appreciation!

Didn’t you just post this question about the tumblers and gifts and get a lot of really good ideas on that thread?

That is great advice! I forget that "you don't have to get them the same thing" all the time!

2 of the 3 items I got my girls are sort of girly (I guess?): handmade local makeup bags and bath exfoliating cubes. But, I also got them custom socks. You know those socks that say "if you're reading this, bring me a glass of wine"? I found a seller on Etsy who adds custom wording to cute socks, so I got a pair for each lady that relates to them (i.e. "if you're reading this, bring me my book", "if you're reading this, bring me a coffee", etc.). Pricing ranged from $10-$13 for the socks.

I think that the customized tumblers is a great idea!! Maybe like a personalized glass?

My girls and I all geek over Harry Potter. So since I'm heading to the Wizarding world of Harry Potter next month I am picking up their gifts there. I'm personalizing their gifts from there based on their personalities and their houses. I liked the idea of giving them stuff like robes and personalized tumblers but the idea of shopping for them like it was their birthday is the best since these gifts are one of the ways you thank them for being in the wedding. Giving something that they will actually use and cherish is the best bet.

Maybe a tumbler and either a Starbucks or Dunkin' gift card? If they like coffee!

Consider a photo of yourself with an individual bridesmaid- in the form of a puzzle, that can serve as a keepsake when frame.
Etsy has sellers of these items. A personalized message can be included. I am planning on getting this, myself.

I got Turkish towels for each of them to ask them/thank them for being BM. I plan on getting them a couple of other little things for the big day, but I thought it would be something cute for having a wedding on the water. They are super soft and just came in yesterday and love them! I ordered our wedding colors, but also ordered black for FH and gray for my sister who really isn't girly. So there are options! I also plan on getting them Tumblers, so they can use them for work or the gym!
