Non-alcoholic cocktail hour ideas?

Amber, on July 30, 2019 at 1:12 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 10
Hey everyone! I'm having a minor freakout trying to figure out what we should do for our "cocktail hour". Originally, I had planned to scrap it altogether but I completely forgot about pictures after the ceremony so I'll need to have some way to keep everyone occupied for about 45 minutes to an hour. My fiance and I are the biggest drinkers so we're really not thrilled about the possibility of spending over a thousand dollars on something we don't really find too important to have at our wedding. Does anyone have any ideas they could share? Thank you!

I did boba at mine aha. You could do some lemonades, infused water, sodas, etc. Maybe also think about what you personally like drinking. For instance I am a sucker for Italian sodas

I like the idea of mocktails! They would be fun drinks that go beyond just regular soda/water!

I'm doing appitizers and a nacho bar. Honestly people tend to be hungry so if you have food its all that matters.

I agree. As long as there is food to tide me over until dinner, I could just drink water for all I care lol! Smiley smile

I love the idea of the mocktails. You could have like fruity lemonades, sparkling juice mimosas, Shirley temples etc. and then finger foods. I would love those options as a wedding guest!

You can still do appetizers and drinks. They don't have to be alcoholic drinks. Sodas, iced tea, lemonade, etc. will do just fine.

"Mocktails" are really popular too. Like a tequila sunrise without the tequila. Or a mojito without the rum.

Our caterer is doing a "lemonade stand" for us that includes lemonade, sweet tea, and different fruits to mix in it. Something like that would be fun!

We are doing minimal alcohol too! We are doing brunch reception, so we are having mimosas during cocktail hour, and then "lemonade" style stand, with traditional drinks like lemonade and sweet tea.

Hot chocolate..different coffees forc teas..or a first look and skip the cocktail hour. Says tons of money and gives you more time with you're guest. I was so numbed I have to do one and now I'm stoked I get to do one. Lol
