No Wedding Party, Processional Question

Tris, on June 5, 2019 at 4:48 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 9
How long do you guys think the processional song should be? My MIL will walk the flower girl, then my Mom will walk the ring bearer, then I'll go. The song I have in mind is 3 min 41 seconds.

Will this be weird? I'm feeling weird about being so non traditional.

Usually whoever is in charge of the music will just fade it out once you get to the front. I’ve never seen a whole song played for a processional unless there was a huge wedding party/immediate family.

You can always tell the DJ to fade the song after everyone is done walking. Will you have a separate song for yourself?

I was planning to have whoever In charge of music know when to fade it out to the next song. It might be ok for you if you walk slow or have a lot of people walking.

No just the one song. We are hoping to put our teenage nephew in charge of our playlists. We will have one for the processional/recessional, then cocktail hour, dinner and early dance music, then newer pop dance music. He will just have to hit play. I'm sure he could handle fading the volume too.

I'm thinking the kids will walk pretty slow. They are 1 and 3.

I agree! I think it is pretty typical for DJ to just handle song fades.

Only reason I ask, is because having a separate song creates a separation and allows people to stand for the bride.

    Oh, ok.

So it's a mash up/cover of country songs by Caleb and Kelsey. There are 3-4 very natural breaks in the song. So I think it really will work! I can come out to the third or fourth part depending on timing 😊
