Hello Ladies.

Hoping some of you can help me out here: I'm not sure I want to have a wedding cake. I don't really like cake. No I'm not crazy, haha, most are just too sweet for me. So, I was wondering if it would be weird to do cupcakes or mini cheesecakes? Also, any other suggestions for appropriate cake substitutes?

Thanks in advance!

I think if you don't like cake, you shouldn't have a cake. I was at a wedding recently where the bride & groom served wedding pie. They had several different types of pie & even cut the first piece and served each other just like with cake. Everyone there raved about the pies and people were going back for seconds and thirds. I've never seen a cake as successful as the pies were! I say, go with the desert you love & make no apologies for the lack of cake. Your guests will love it!

We chose not to have one, instead opted for an Ice Cream Sundae bar and a dessert table. Our caterer surprised us w/a small cake so we would have something to cut for photos. People seemed to like the options we gave them (it was the end of June so ice cream was a hit) and didn't complain about the lack of cake.
