Hey guys!

So me and my FH are not big sweet people! He actually hates cakes/cupcakes/desserts haha (weird I know)..I don’t mind them but I’m more of a savory person.

We have decided not to get a wedding cake or any dessert. Guest will still enjoy dinner and the open bar. But no cake or dessert will be served. This has saved us a lot of money too!

But now my/and his family is telling me I “must” have cake/cupcakes at the wedding (apparently it’s a law haha). I’m still not budging we are solid in our decision ☺️

Is anyone else not having wedding cake?

I'll probably have an assortment of cakes (cheese cakes, rum cake, etc) Not just your standard wedding cake. Also, in place of my wedding cake I'll most likely just have sheet cake. Nothing fancy. I'm having a small wedding, I don't need to show out and I especially don't need to do it with a cake!!! Haha!!!

I love the idea of ice cream. You could buy 3 of the 10 dollar tubs anywhere. One of strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate. Then the toppings are like 2 dollars each, have a Max of 3, done. You could have sprinkles, chocolate chips and mini M&Ms. It's a great way to not pay for a cake, it saves a ton, and your guests have options.

I would be so disappointed to go to a wedding with no dessert. I don’t normally eat dessert so I would be looking forward to it. Popcorn and trail mix would be a great late night snack but not a real dessert IMO.

I am not having a traditional wedding cake. We will be doing cupcakes and mini pies. I think a lot of guest will be disappointed if there isn't something sweet to eat. If you have an open bar, I would at least have a late night snack. When people get drunk or are drinking they like to eat. We found a company that does alcoholic snow-cones, they are coming after dinner. I have seen catering companies offer late-night snacks such as donuts, pretzel bites, etc. Maybe try that.

Friend of mine hates cake with a passion. So she just had a cookie table.

We are not big cake or cupcake people either so we are having a mix and match ice cream cart. There will be home made ice cream pops, ice cream sandwiches, and single scoop option! I do think you need to have something sweet! Even if it’s like a thank you bag with chocolate covered pretzels!

So many tasty ideas here! My fiancé and I are the opposite - we love sweet treats and desserts of all kinds. We plan to have a wedding cake, but now I’m going to have to seriously look into chocolate dipped potato chips!
