My RSVPs were due by 8/25 and I received probably about half of what I sent out (I have 43 confirmed guests) .... what is a friendly way of following up with those who didn't respond to ask if they are coming? Technically, I have plenty of time before I need a final count for my vendor (9/21), but...

My RSVPs were due by 8/25 and I received probably about half of what I sent out (I have 43 confirmed guests) .... what is a friendly way of following up with those who didn't respond to ask if they are coming? Technically, I have plenty of time before I need a final count for my vendor (9/21), but wanted to make sure I gave myself enough time to get a seating chart poster printed. Do I give an extension and say, I need to know by ... "x date" or I'll have to consider you a no?

My wedding is September 29th so I requested a response by September 7th. I wont start making calls until a week later since I know that some guests will most likely drop them in the mail on the 7th or 8th (procrastination at it's finest). I have already sent word to those who verbally said yea I am coming when they got the save the date ( back in April) to remind them I will need their formal RSVP before the 7th. My FH family is the worst when it comes to sending back RSVP, so he's been taking verbal confirmations, which is fine I just hope he knows how to spell everyone's first and last name because we are doing placement cards and a seating chart.
I love some of the sample calls and text you ladies have given. I will be using this in a couple weeks to call/text those who haven't responded.
