No reception/ still want first dance?

Sarah, on January 25, 2019 at 7:52 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 9
We are having a destination wedding with no reception but a meal at a private restaurant afterwards.
how are you/did you do your first dance? Or any ideas for me? I still want to have that moment with him. The people doing our ceremony said we could either do it immediately after the ceremony right on the beach, or we could use it as our recessional song and go directly into the first dance at the end of the aisle. What do you guys think?

We're eloping and we're doing our first dance in a park near the house we're getting married at. It will just be us, the photographer and whoever happens to walk by. Do it when it feels right for y'all and the most organic for what you're hoping to get from the day.

Could you do it before the recessional? My only thought that typically after the bride and groom walk out, people lose attention and get ready to move to the reception.

You could also do it shortly after your meal is served. Do your thank you toast and then dance.

I thought about this but we won’t have access to the speakers and such like we do on the beach. We have music setup with our package and that doesn’t include our meal after.

Not sure if you’ll see this. But was wondering what you decided and how it went? I am the same situation and also was contemplating Doing the dance immediately after the ceremony on the beach before heading into the restaurant but don’t know if that would be odd.
