No place setting tables...

B&J 2014, on March 30, 2014 at 11:09 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

So we are doing a 1:00pm wedding and having heavy appetizers, beer and wine. It's an outdoor ranch house venue, very rustic/shabby chic. We are having round tables with unassigned seating... Since there are no need for place settings I don't know what to put on the tables so that it doesn't look so plain and/ or boring. Any ideas?

What if you do small/tiny potted plants as favors and let them double as table decor instead of setting up place settings? That would fit with an outdoor rustic theme I think.

I don't have any advice, but I was JUST thinking about this today. I'm doing an evening cocktail reception. I will have 7 or 8 big round tables (along with other seating options) but have NO idea how to make them seem less empty. A normal centerpiece just doesn't seem like enough. Keeping an eye on this one!

So I will have a mason jar with flowers as a centerpiece. I was also thinking about having a champagne bucket on the table as well... And we are doing 4oz jams as the giveaway... Would these be ok on the table?

We are not having a meal either but I'm still putting white plates on the table with rolled white napkins that have a turquoise paisley napkin ring. I figure they can choose their seat and grab their plate!

I like that idea, MarianBride! Just keep a stack of plates where they would have been by the food anyways, but make a few place setting for those sitting at the the tables.

Put favors at each seat like a little gift. That way the table is not bare and the favors are nicely displayed
