I sent out RSVP cards with the invitation, & I also gave the option of RSVPing on our wedding website. We have had 4 people actually RSVP.. but when I see people out in public or they're texting me they say they're coming to my wedding?! Like.. why didn't you RSVP then?!!? How do I even know how...

We have had 4 people actually RSVP.. but when I see people out in public or they're texting me they say they're coming to my wedding?! Like.. why didn't you RSVP then?!!? How do I even know how many people to say is coming! This is just so frustrating. Most of the guest list is 20-30 year olds from the south.. maybe they never learned how to RSVP? I dont know...

We didn't send out cards. We accepted responses through our wedding website's RSVP function. We heard from 248 our of 250 invited guests 10 days before our due date.

Did everyone go to the website themselves? No. We see or talk to a lot of the invited guests, on at least a monthly basis. We accepted responses any way we could. If someone sent a Facebook private message, texted, called, or we saw them, we made sure which of 3 entrée choices they wanted, and we input it ourselves. It took about 30 seconds per couple.

There was another online post today with a bride complaining that guests absolutely had to go on their website to respond; they weren't accepting any verbal responses. Sure ...

P.S. I've been to 1 wedding in the south and 1 wedding where the bride was from the south. All I can conjecture is that they both had buffets, which are uncommon in our region. Maybe with buffets, and without the need to choose an entrée, guests just say to expect them and that's it? (For the 1 wedding in the south it was the only one of 2 dozen I've attended, that didn't have assigned tables, either).

Perhaps those who have texted consider that to be their RSVP, after all they did let you know they were coming, just not by the preferred method. I would probably still follow up with them, especially if you need meal choices. Sorry you're having to deal with this OP.
