No input on bridal shower?

Hey all Although I know the Bride does not throw her own shower.. I mean why would we but my question would be can the Bride give a lil input on it ? Like what kind of food that's to be served etc.. Or do she have no say so @ all.. None nada zero absolutely none?

One of my showers was a surprise, so they really didn't ask me if I had any preferences.

The other, one of the hostesses did occasionally ask how I felt about x or if lemon was my favorite cake flavor. They were usually simple questions and I only gave input when asked. I also always stayed in the box. Like, when she asked about some of my favorite sandwich toppings, I did not demand a pasta dish.

A lady in my church is throwing one for me. She asked if I had any preference as far as decorations? and if I had a food I'd absolutely want served. I think it's really up to the person who's hosting it

The only input I gave was that mimosas needed to be included

I only gave input when asked. We had quite a few people who attended the shower with food allergies. Fish, peanuts and gluten being the main culprits. Other than that, I had no clue.

I respond to questions when directly asked. If there's options then I'll give my opinion on which one. If it's whether I like something then it's a little more situational. For instance, my mom is making centerpieces out of driftwood and succulents. She asked if the moss looked okay and I said I'd use a little less. But I also know my mom and know she wants genuine feedback.

No way! Food costs money and since you're not hosting as the bride, it's not your place unless asked

I haven't had mine yet. I just gave a guest list and I've been asked what I would want. I said they didn't have to do anything, but something simple, casual and I would like a few balloons and those silly paper wedding bells (stupid I know, but that's me). They laughed but I don't want to give too many I want this or that. Beyond that anything they do will be amazing as these are the women I love the most in the world.

I know nothing, and was not asked for input lol. My shower is this Sunday, and I'm so excited! I love surprises. But if you don't, you could ask whoever is hosting if they need anything from you, and see what they say.

If they are hosting it I'm sure they'll know what to serve. Go with the flow and have fun.
