No Groomsmen or Best Man with 5 Bridesmaids

My FH told me he doesn’t want any groomsmen or a best man. I’ve already asked 5 people to be in the bridal party, including his sister. Has anyone else had BMs with absolutely no one on the groom’s side? I’m not necessarily concerned about symmetry, I just feel bad that FH doesn’t want anyone on his side. He does have a circle of friends, so that’s not the issue. He did admit that if it were up to him, we’d elope, but he knows I want a bigger celebration.
If your FH told you he didn’t want any groomsmen or a best man, did you convince him otherwise or did you let it be?

    Yeah, I don’t want to be a bride I’ll about it. I was thinking if we have speeches at the reception, maybe his sister would like to. I’ll ask. And I suppose there’s nothing wrong with having him surrounded by women in pictures! Smiley smile

    We’re having no wedding party. Speeches (if any) will be if someone volunteers/really wants to. I wouldn’t try to change his mind, especially if you’re having the big celebration you want.

    I was thinking about that too. I mentioned it to him a while ago, and he said it didn’t occur to him. I’ll talk to his sister about it. Thanks!

    I’ve been to several weddings where the bride has had her brother or a groom had his sister on their side. I think it’s so sweet and it might be something he feels comfortable with. Good luck.
