No Groomsman & No Bestman, HELP!!!!

Diana, on May 30, 2017 at 5:24 PM Posted in Planning 0 17

My fiance and I aren't having a huge bridal party. I only have 1 sister and she's going to be my maid of honor, of course. But my fiance does not have any brothers, just 2 sisters. He is not very close to his friends to ask them to be his best man. I asked him if he wanted to ask his cousin and he said that he doesn't deserve that role in our wedding. Is it okay if it's only my sister (maid of honor) and my dog (ring bearer) to walk down the aisle. Is that okay?

If he wants one or both of his sisters to stand with him, he should absolutely do it. Idk if he's considered this, but I've been to a wedding where his Dad stood as Best Man, if they have a close relationship.

If he doesn't want anyone to stand with him in the wedding, that choice needs to be respected too. I don't think it'll look weird and it isn't necessary to have even sides (or sides at all)

I totally agree with you Richard but I wish he can see that. His oldest sister and him are always fighting and I know he would totally say no to her. The middle sister is a maybe, but I'm still guessing its going to be a no. I wish I had a lot of friends that way I can lend him one lol . But after the years my friends and I just stopped talking . Would it look ok if he used his dog as a best man?

OMG I never thought of that A.Magill.in.May! He is very close to his dad. He actually considers him his best friend. I just thought that would of been weird.

Great!! I'm going to propose for him to use his dad as best man, hopefully he is as thrilled about the idea as I am.

Anyone can stand beside your husband as long as he wants him to be there.

And if there is no one, that is also OK.

My sister is not married and still in high school, but I'm going to pitch the idea of his dad as his best man. If not I'm back to square one.

You should have him ask his sisters to be groomswomen!

My FH is wanting to have his father as his Best man because he doesn't have many close friends and isn't close to his teenage brothers!

Hi hun. I had 2 MOH's 1 junior bride and 1 brides maid. My Husband had a best man (my cousin) and his son as a grooms men. Ask your male men family members to see if they would stand in for him. My bridal party was a bit off in numbers, but my day was still beautiful. Also, I agree with what was stated previously about it being 2017 you could pretty much do what you want it's your day and your vision! Good luck!!!!
