No flowers for flower girl????

Michelle, on June 6, 2019 at 10:30 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 23

I saw an article that said they saw a flower girl throw out glitter and gold foil stars instead of flowers at a New Years Eve wedding. And I thought oh wow, that's different and very affordable. I could do that. But then I thought would it look cheap and or tacky??? What do you think??

I don't think it's tacky! Our venue doesn't allow us to throw petals unless we pick up 100% of them so our flower children (1 year old boy & 3 year old girl) are carrying a sign.

I don't think it's tacky I would just make sure your venue would be okay with it. Our venue only allows us to toss biodegradable material (like real flower petals or dried flower confetti) and we were specifically told nothing can have glitter as the clean up is really difficult.

I don't think it looks tacky actually, that's very interesting

check with your venue what is allowed though because i don't think my venue personally allows that since it could be harder to clean

I think that is a great idea! But check with your venue. My sister was looking at a venue that was an oak forest and they wouldn't let her scatter anything real or fake because it would disturb the natural ecosystem. My mom and cousin got married at a mission and because it was historic they couldn't scatter anything either.

I don't think it's tacky, but glitter is crazy bad for the environment and impossible to clean up. My venue would positively freak.

I don't think that would be tacky! Especially if it fits with your theme. I don't think you could ever have too much glitter, hehe! Just make sure your venue allows it and you have a clean-up plan in place, glitter has a way of getting eeeeeverywhere!

I'm personally not a fan of glitter because it's messy and hard to clean up. Gold foil stars would be a better choice, in my opinion Smiley smile

I think it’s fitting. But I would just check with the venue because glitter gets everywhere and is a b!tch to clean up. Given that, I would go the confetti route if allowed because it’s easier to vacuum up

Check the venue, mine expressed that they do not allow glitter at all on any decorations because it's so hard for them to remove.
That being said I think glitter is awful and would think it's messy and tacky. But maybe something like table scatter that's larger and shaped would be more shimmering and less messy looking.

Glitter or foil decor is so bad for the environment and most venues don't allow it. Check with your venue and please look into biodegradable product.

I don't think it's tacky. Our "flower" girls aren't throwing flower petals either. Instead, because both of my younger goddaughters are such hams, they'll be blowing kisses.

It's different, they'll have fun, and the best part, they wont beat each other with the flower petal baskets LOL
