Has any other woman had this issue? I don't have a lot of female friends. 1 actually. The rest are all male. I have my sisters but I have never been very close with them either. I don't have a lot of female friends. 1 actually. The rest are all male. I have my sisters but I have never been very close with them either. I care a lot about all of my guy friends and do consider them my family, but I would be lying if I said I was not upset that I haven't had the enjoyment of female friendships and bridesmaids to enjoy planning my wedding with. My sisters have no interest, it's just not their thing. And my mom is very uninvolved naturally. On the flip side, my mother in law to be is a NIGHTMARE. She is WAY to involved and really has no interest in what myself and my fiancé (her 1st born) wants. So needless to say, I feel very isolated and stressed out.

If any other brides, bridesmaids, etc have gone through or are going through this, I could use the support or some LifeHack on how to make this experience more enjoyable. It is my wedding after all.

I have a lot of friends of both genders. But my closest group of friends are girls that have been my friends for over 20 yrs. Still, we are not interested in anything wedding planning related. I went to get my dress alone. And, while we all have had bachelorettes since we like to have fun and travel, the rest of us have not really been part of any wedding planning in each other's weddings. There's nothing wrong with that. Getting married to your FS is awesome. But wedding planning is just glorified party planning. For some reason, movies show it as the "greatest time of your life". I'm already married and plan to have greater times and have (and have had) greater accomplishments.

My uncle had one “groomsmen” which was actually his best friend who was female. It’s your wedding and whoever you want standing behind you is who you should haveSmiley smile
