No decor?

Laura, on December 29, 2019 at 9:26 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 24

Has anyone considered no decorations? This is my venue and it feels like it doesn't need much at all. What would you do in a space like this (minus the room divider)?

I would at least have centerpieces. Otherwise, I don't think any other decor is necessary.

Can you give me some suggestions? Also, I'm thinking maybe white table cloths? Though often, I was told that the tables have no covering. I can do overlays too. My colors are peach, blush, and charcoal. The wedding is in June - at night.

I would definitely do table clothes. We did white table clothes with black layovers. There are a ton of different ideas. Centerpieces are usually flowers, but they don't have to be. It depends on what you want. I think including candles would be really pretty since the wedding is at night.

I'll be ordering my ready made already assembled flower centerpieces from fiftyflowers.com, check them out, very reasonable and requires so little work on your part
I'd add table clothes - always makes a room look more festive

Glad I could help! Your colors are really pretty. We had fake candles since real weren't allowed.

Right now it looks like a cigar bar or something dark of the sorts. You gotta spruce it up even if not linens add someeeething to the table shapes. It looks really conference room, or serious unless that's the vibe your going for.

In a venue like that, some kind of lighting as centerpieces would be gorgeous. Those pillar candles above. Or there are so many lantern style options, you can add flowers or a bit of greenery (or not).

We aren’t having any decorations in our venue. And we also aren’t using flowers to decorate the church. They’re both beautiful as is.

Here's a challenge. They usually do black tablecloths, however with peach, blush, and charcoal - I wouldn't want a Halloween theme. I could do charcoal, or they might let me do plain tables with peach runners and center candles with eucalyptus. I just don't like peach and black - but that is the default and least expensive. It's a really cool vibe - think elegant gastropub. Also, what are your thoughts on using the maids bouquets in vases at the center of the tables (I'm doing real so just laying them down wherever seems like a waste).

I love the idea of pillar candles and the rustic looking votive candles with eucalyptus. You think that will work?

I would do as much or as little as You like! I agree that adding candles would be pretty but i love the wood tables so I would keep those bare. Also good to consider what it'll look like on the day of with place settings and napkins

The place settings are white - would you do a colored napkin? I wouldn't want the maids to look like they were wearing linens. lol! ... Ideas?

Hmm that depends on the vibe you want. For example, if you wanted decor to stay minimal id say maybe white, black or charcoal napkins. If you wanted to bring more focus to the tables and add more color, I would do blush or peach napkins or tablerunners.

    We are skipping table linens.
We're doing a placemat in the middle, 3 candle holders, and a table number made out of a wine bottle with glittery sprigs coming out.

We are not! We are getting married in a venue that provides most of their own decor so we decided to save our money and just let the venue decide what to do!

The photo won't load. but i know my venue had these beautiful bay windows over looking the pond and ceremony site. i just did centerpieces and a couple small things for the gift table. sometimes less is more in these cases! we did ivory napkins and ivory linens.
